This appeal has nothing to do with disoblige, but rather what happened between infrared and pure_luck immediately prior to the match.
the story:
about 30 min before our lj game (around 3:30 eastern), infrared was sitting in pub spec - he hadn't even jumped in a ship prior to that - and without warning, was banned. 10 minutes later, he's unbanned, and re-enters tw to play in ?go javs. our lj game is announced, and we commence adding players. immediately after we start adding, infrared is banned again, being accused of evading.
QUESTION ONE: why was infrared banned? he's accused of cheating in pub, but he was never in a ship in pub in the first place. how did he cheat? pure_luck said something about "bland" (infrared's brother), but ?find bland shows he was last seen 8 days ago. what does this have to do with today?
QUESTION TWO: to get back in tw, he was obviously unbanned. why was he banned again for evading then? there is clearly a disconnect between mods, or pure_luck just can't make up his mind. either way, infrared shouldn't even have been banned in the first place.
with no time to appeal anything we went ahead with the game. duck, the guy infrared was supposed to start for, goes 6-10 and we lose 45-50. i'm not saying diso would have lost had infrared played, but we are 2-0 this lj season with infrared in: (7-6 vs deliria and 12-9 against dynasty). having infrared in the lineup does not guarantee victory, but the record shows us that we may have had a better chance at winning.
more details:
infrared was banned about a month ago, once again for unknown reasons, perhaps relating to "bland". after rudy had checked it through, it was determined that infrared did nothing wrong and it was a mistake, so he was allowed to play. pure_luck made a reference to this prior ban when giving his non-answer for this current ban, so if this is the ban in question, once again we have some sort of miscommunication between mods.
the timing of this also suggests that whatever offense infrared is accused of (this "cheating in pub"), it must have happened some time in the last week. infrared played in the previous two weeks (6 and 7) with no issue. as "bland" was last seen 8 days ago (more than one week), the timing is not consistent with each other.
furthermore, for the past year, infrared's twd registration status has been tied to some guy named "direct x" - the name is not important - but twd ops have been registering for infrared with no issue. both left_eye and rudy had confirmed this mixup with "direct x" as a mac address issue, and cleared infrared of any wrongdoing. i'm not sure if this has anything to do with the current situation, but i am just laying out all the facts here to show that we have nothing to hide.
what we can deduce from the current situation is that pure_luck realized his mistake from the first ban at 3:30 (or another mod unbanned him realizing p_l's mistake), but after unbanning infrared, p_l banned him again just prior to the lj to avoid any sort of "delectable situation". it's unfortunate that one of our starters and someone that is completely innocent of any wrongdoing had to pay for what a known cheater did last twl season, and in the process of doing so, could have severely impacted the results of quake vs diso, effectively ending our season in twlj.
as such, i am filing this appeal for a replay, this time with the lineup that we intended to play. allow the proper players to decide the outcome of this match, not what pure_luck decides on a whim.
