Because Thunder already had that game dominated his sub wasn't that important. And you don't give Rookie of the Year based on a little sub, you give it for steady and consistant performance throughout the season and playoffs and thats what Guero did.

As for steady and consistency.. getting 10-8 is pretty steady and consistent dont you think? Let's do a simple math calculation, his avk is 10 / game.. let say he did play as much as Guero which is 13 games in total. Add 58+70 (10*7 games more to reach 13 =70) = 128 kills. Although this obviously has deviation, but it did prove Yak deserves it as much as Guero.

Rookie of the year is for someones first year in TWL. This was Guero's first year. He is rookie of the year. People were complaining in 2000 and 2001 when the Seattle Mariners Kazuhiro Sasaki then Ichiro Suzuki won Rookie of the Year after playing baseball in Japan for decades than coming to the MLB and dominating as they did there. But, nonetheless they won it and they were Rookies in a new league.
