FFE's TWLB Prediction

Hi fellow trenchers, fellow basers, and annoying other divisioners who like to talk shit about basing. I thought i'd make a new thread because my prediction is kinda long..

I just wanna take the time to write down what I think is happening with LB this season.

Keep in mind this is mostly opinion, that means I would like to hear yours too.

Respect: Respect has really nice depth in the shark and spider fields. They can show any number of highly skilled players and probably shouldn't be afraid of never showing their 'top' players in that aspect. However, they, like everyone else, have their weakness. Their depth in terriers is close to non-existent. It will be interesting to see whether this will matter, or will the rest of the team make up for the less than clutch terrier.
Terrier: I would add Diakka in for their starting terr. Some might put in Dreamwin before Diakka, but having played in the same squad as Diakka, I know he can pull some fancy moves to escape dangerous situations most of the time.
Spider: Again, it is very hard to put an exact list of who will be spidering for respect, for they have a buttload of decent spiders. The people who would probably make the cut in my opinion would be : cripple, sarger, fiftyseven, zung, hellkite.
I would say sarger and cripple's camping would be countered nicely with hellkite and fifty's pushing. Not much else to say here.
Shark : Decent lineup would obviously be : vatican assasin and menelvagor. But persian baser can shark a bit, same with tabarnak, hellkite, cypre.

Dice: Well, they looked pretty strong during the break between twl's, but then again after showing all of their starters and doing that poorly last season, who knows. It should be said that with the addition of jamal replacing chief utsav as terrier, dice is going to give everyone else a run for their money. I am looking for finals for dice, but again we'll have to wait and see.
Terrier: Jamal: In my opinion one of the best terriers in the game. This guy is intense shit in every ship, so even if dice wants to mix it up jamal will be awesome at whatever he plays. He has very good flying skills, he can get where he wants to, and he can drop the right ships at the right spots while doing it. Watch for Jamal carrying dice to the finals. Subs would be tim and sauro, but besides not showing up, I can't forsee an instance when jamal would need a sub.
Spider: Well, we have megaman89, domi, renzi, shayde, stayon. Nothing to say here except we have very big names for dice's spider line. Stayon will go under, If they live up to the hype that follows them, not much will be able to stop them. For subs I would put grandmastahs, jamal (if he isn't terring), caos, fieryfire and poxy
Shark: I'm not sure whether a2m is going to be playing this season, but when him and cig smoke, have played together so long, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Jamal, dwopple and Smurf would probably be my replacement sharks for dice.

Sage: They have had a very strong season in twd, but like everyone else I just don't feel that they will get to the top when every other squad will show their best. I will wait to be proven wrong though.
Terrier: Zizu hands down is the terr for sage. Man, the recs this guy pulls of is F***ing intense, for the longest time all one would see from him is 50-2, or like 55-4. INTENSE. Kawrae would be sub for the terrier department.
Spider: Spiderlineup is very strong as a team. Spikey, nl>trigger, colony, gazo, i robot would be the lineup I would choose if i were sage. These guys can hold their own against any other spider lineup, they are very powerful spiders. I would like to see them pitted against the dice spiders, and see what happens.
Shark: The sharks for sage will probably be their downfall, not a lot of depth. Vergilius, apocalypse wow!, and knockers. Not many other sharks up to the task..

Penetrate: These guys won last season, their top line is, no other way to put it, fucking good. But, was it because of last season being a sort of 'down' or 'off' season, as cig smoke said, that they won? We'll have to see.
Terrier: What happened to dead_rain? He's on another squad atm.. Hopefully he'll be back or else pene is missing one of, if not the best terrier in trench wars. If dead_rain doesn't come back, wingzero will be the terrier, although he doesn't even compare to d_r. Sub would be confluence
Spider: Pene has amazing skill in lunch3 and royst, that is if lunch bothers to show up. A VERY close third would be tsumetai, and then i'd put zeebu and confluence. Not a lot of overpowering spiders in the sub division, so whoever shows up could get it I guess.
Shark: One of the better shark combinations of this season will definitely be seen in jeenyuss and veloce. Look to fermata to fill in when one of them doesn't show.

Thunder: A great allround squad. They have consistently shown us that they are playoff material and I believe they will make it again. They have many players for each ship and depth is very important because we all know how often a squad’s top line comes on.
Terr: Necromotic subs: burnt/raples. Necromotic is an offensive terr who does some crazy shit and gets high number of kills. His offensive style helps the team greatly as he gets many kills and uses his burst nicely. They also have Burnt who plays a more defensive style of terring and he could be put to use when thunder is facing a good pair of sharks where necro’s style could become a burden. Their terr isn’t what they should be mainly worried about though.
Spiders: Kian, Humid, i.d., ease, and dald. Subs: Burnt and eelam. Spider line is looking pretty strong. You have humid, who is a good and consistent under, and dald who can switch to jav and lagfuck everything up. Kian and Ease are both good pushers who can kill efficiently. Thunder’s strongest point is spids.
Sharks: Stabwound and eelam or fizzy. Stabwound is a great shark and thunder is lucky as fuck for getting him, as for his partner I can’t find anyone who would make this partnership an amazing one. Eelam and fizzy are solid sharks who can do whats needed.



Mad: Well, these guys have a lot of heart, but I don't think they have the lineup to take them where they want. I hope I am wrong, because this squad has a bunch of really kind and caring members.
Terrier: Look for scoop to terr for mad. Scoop is pretty decent and I am positive he will be able to help his team win a few matches. Zizzo will most likely be the one waiting for the call if scoop has a freak accident.
Spider: Mad has a relatively weak spider line, but maybe they can pull a few upsets. Look to spawnisen, m_m god, beastie, ro and turban to head the mad team in spider. Weaver, and olivier are decent substitutes.
Shark: Looking at ph and mattey for a very good shark line. Perhaps ph might need to rep for spiders instead of repping to bomb a bit more this season, but again we'll have to just wait and see. Cranium will be a close sub for this sharking duo.

Anti-scrub: After having a very weak season, and only getting into twl because of the decision to have 10 teams in lb, I am going to look for anti-scrub to pull up their pants and give every match the best they got.
Terrier: I don't think brookus would miss any games or let any one else play terrier instead of himself. A long time ago brookus was a household name accompanied with the descriptions of greatness in terrier. I am too new to the game to have seen anything like that, and having seen brookus play only this season, I am not impressed. Hopefully the spark that was in him back then will reunite, for the good of his team.
Spider: Not a very strong lineup here, but maybe teamwork can get them somewhere. Look for schope norris, sprained, usoi, teh super, and salu to spider for a-s. Nit3, lai and just about everyone else on their roster can sub in for emergencies.
Shark: I'm going to say ephemeral and pressure drop will play more than not here, sprained and teh super being the backups. I doubt that this lineup can carry the spiders and a rusty terr, but it is the best that a-s can show.

Techunique: Definitely these guys don't know what they are in for. I doubt that even their top line can scratch many of the other squads, but again I hope to be proven wrong, since I like these guys. Rageritual is going to play a key role if these guys are going to be winning any matches. The other thing going for this team will be the use of ventrilo, which definitely has proven (to me atleast) to help a lot in basing.
Terrier: DF is close to being decent, but nothing to being able to carry the rest of the team.
Spider: Pardon, Breezy, Seriel killer, Spell and Corisco will start most definitely. More often than not, pardon will be taking under. These guys won't be able to stand much of a change against other squads' spiders.
Shark: Rageritual and Mulletkid are the sharks for tech. Rageritual is above average and mullet is average at best.

Rapid: Rapid is only in because they had enough games played. Doubt they will win more than one match (techunique).
Terrier: Arobas+, not bad, not great.
Spider: herbalist yangyun, baron munchausen, lifter, paegus and poseidon I guess. Any minutes achieved from rapid will be due to brokenfist's lag.
Shark: violence is the only thing that comes to mind.. Definitely their weakest part is sharking.

Last and maybe least:

Brainwave: I dunno how we'll do this season.. Hopefully we won't get annihilated. The whole squad can basically do any ship.. But the people who come to mind are below.
Terrier: Mikkiz, oder, trasher, and midoent can all terr.
Spider: Runyon, rucci, acidbomber, meddi, aleman, dutch baser, the_paul, trasher.. all decent spiders
Shark: downfall, milpitas, meddi, midoent, flub, the_paul, krage.. all can shark.




I see dice, respect, thunder and sage in playoffs, with dice and respect battling it out at the end. I forsee Dice as the winners. The layup would look something like

3. Sage
4. Thunder
5. Penetrate
6. Brainwave
7. Anti-scrub
8. Mad
9. Techunique
10. Rapid

My TWLB Season 13 predicts

Dice
In it to win it, they have more than a few beastly players that can not only carry themselves but the whole line if necessary. Their problem seems to be playing the right line. If they continue to play favorites it will come back to bite them in the ass. If their top sharks show (Cig Smoke, Dwopple, and Riske) with their top spids in (Domi, Mega, Wbm, Stayon, Renzi or Shayde) they won't need to worry about who they put in Terr (Maketso, Vys, Jamal...). Keeping a Jav out of their lineup will make for a sure win against most of the squads. I expect Dice to lose 2-3 games due to poor capping and a couple chokes. I see them making it to the playoffs and then the finals.

Sage
I see sage being a few games above 500. They can usually bring the heat when they want but I can't see them beating the top squads. Zizu usually has to carry them in Terr along with Verg in Shark. They have pretty good team chemistry considering they have no outstanding Spiders in my mind besides Spikey. They will most likely make it to the playoffs but that is the farthest they will go.

Brainwave
I will never be able to figure out this squad. Sometimes they can really kick some ass but most of the time it's like they forget where they are and what their purpose in life is. Their roster is huge and I have no idea what lines they are going to put out each weekend. What I do know is they are going to have to have Mikkiz in Terr along with Downfall/midoent in shark and at least ffe/meddi in Spider if they want any chance at picking up some key games against squads like Dice, Sage, and Mad. In order for them to be successful other Spiders are really going to have to step it up. I predict BW will be a few games under 500 and most likely will not make the playoffs.

Penetrate
Here is a squad where if their 2 top sharks (Veloce and Jeenyuss) show then it doesn't really matter who they have in Spider as long as they push with their sharks which Royst, lunch3, tsumetai, zeebu, and turmio are pretty capable of doing. They have a couple solid terrs now (WingZero and Fermata) who are going to need to have good games if they want to win. These guys are really going to need to work hard but if everything comes together for them I predict they will be 3-4 games above 500 sending them into the playoffs and maybe even to the semis.

Thunder
Starting to look like Spastic a little bit which is a good thing for them because now they have some very solid Terrs (Pure_Luck & Burnt) along with some really good sharks (Stabwound, Chuckle, and a couple others). They have some really good spiders who are going to have to show such as Ease, Humid, and Mouse along with a few others who will need to step it up. They have a secret weapon, Necro, who they can use in Jav, most likely, successfully. They can throw Kian, dald, eelam and i.d. around somewhere as a utility guys, so if their line shows up I see thunder actually doing quite well and being well over 500 and making it into the playoffs and then to the semis.

Techunique
If they win anything it will be against A-S or Rapid, but I doubt they can even beat them. DF is an ok Terr and they have one or two decent spiders but they do not have the sharks to really hold off anything nor do they have any spiders they can carry the line. I dont see Tech doing very well at all and they will be lucky to win 1-2 games. Sorry Tech, maybe you can prove me wrong?

Mad
Mad reminds me a little of Dice. They have some great players who can really dominate a game. They got a couple solid Terrs such as Mattey and Zizzo plus some really good sharks like PH and cranium. They have some powerhouse Spiders too (Ro, Scoop, Turban, Might, and 1-2 others). Like Dice, they have a lot of good players and are going to need to make good capping decisions if they want to win. They can't play favorites and will need to play a standard line with no specials. If their players show up I see Mad losing 3-4 games and floating right into the playoffs making their way to the semis.

Anti-Scrub
So much potential yet they just can't get it together. They have a great top line but never get to see it. Brookus is the obvious Terr and he will need to do better than he has been all season which is prolly unlikely. They have a couple sharks but none that stand out in my mind...maybe the most consistent are teh super and epic but they are not very aggressive. Solacer, USOi and Sprained are their best Spids and without them they will have no chance. They will need their players to show and for no one to choke if they want to make it to 500. There is a good chance we see A-S in the playoffs.

Rapid
Arobas, Jebu, Lifter, Violence, and nam will need to be there to play w/e ships along with some other people I might be forgetting. I don't see rapid doing very well though but this might be that underdog squad that does better than A-S, and BW, and...i predict... comes close to being 500 but not close enough as they won't make the playoffs.

Respect
Whatever happens...happens.

I expect another exciting TWLB season as there are many many many good players out there spread out across all the squads. I expect we see squads like Brainwave and A-S do better than expected but in the end and in the finals I see it being Dice vs. Respect.

the past 4 twl's spastic made the semi-finals and lost

the past 3 twl's thunder made it to the semi-finals (not sure if we made finals)

you have 3 of the 5 core members of spastic merge into thunder. we are going to make the semi's in the very least, but i got my sights set on the finals.

I've beat you so many times in LB i lost my count so i hope that was a joke. Now Sage is in LB for the first time with the same old core and i think we got one of the best lineups i've ever played in.
