  • Idea for TWL - Allow people to see player energy

Just an idea for the TWL arenas. I was playing the other day and after reading about how people like vys cheat, I was thinking...

Why don't we let all specs in TWL arenas see people's energy?

This would be a virtually useless 'advantage' as it's probably easier to just play the game then have someone in spec tell you when energy is low (considering how fast people recharge in this zone anyway). But it would be great for snuffing out any potential cheaters. Having a lot of eyes looking closely is better than relying on the one or two staff members who may be present in the arena for everything.

I like this idea. The ONLY problem I see with this is when teammate coorders spec the enemy and give away energy information. In TWLD there are no FC greens to worry about, but it still is a "potential" problem if it the team spectators use it right.

Aside from that, I'm all for it. If there was a way to limit the energy visibility to only non team freqs, aka the original spectator frequency, then I say do that. I'm not even sure if that is possible... but if it is... well... I would say go for it.

The only potential usefull thing I see from this is that when for example in javs a bullet gets ignored, you can warn your teammate to take that into account.
Aside from that I think if your awereness of opponents nrg is so bad you cannot figure it out yourself and you think that could be usefull, my tip to you would be: Do not, I repeat, DO NOT PLAY TWL CAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY SUCK ASS!

Maybe, but there are always chances that the information can be used. Your jav scenerio is a good one, for instance. Most people have energy awareness... and I understand that... but sometimes TRICKING the enemy into thinking you have energy when you don't works... and that can be taken away if the enemy spectators see it. I'm just pointing out all angles here, because it would be completely moronic not to. Either way, I think it is a good idea, but a person who doesn't look at all angles is a fool.

                  I'm all for this.

Also I doubt a player who already has no clue about his nme's energy-level (which shows an incapability to look beyond your own ship) is somehow capable of reading the info he gets from his teammate-spectator and can instantly apply it in his next few moves. So I doubt there's much advantage in helping from spec, apart from very few cases.. (which wouldn't even be a terrible thing)..

Only in TWLB terrs will get tracked (when they get emped, are low on energy etc..) But this is also alrdy easily done while playing.. so w/e...

Anyone who's against this is a potential cheater.

No one does this, like it was said, it's not helpful nor can you really get the information out fast enough as you'll be spammed. unless you play on like teamspeak and everyone yells he has low energy.. of course, if you're playing, you'll already know this

also, all staff can see this and i never even considered saying "blah blah has low energy" because it's fairly obvious

Look, its the same thing as coording.

Good squads don't need coords at all and naturally know where their team is pretty easily. Still... most squads give coords. It is the same thing. Just because we don't need to know if someone is low energy doesn't mean some other player knows as well. Anyway, I was just pointing out all angles, as I said earlier. Also, as I said earlier, I think its a good idea.

I think it is a good idea, but lets be honest it is pretty damn hard to literally time a recharge because of all the variables and the split second it takes you to start or stop a stopwatch if you are doing something like that, and there was some problems before the new version of continuum came out with people tweaking settings like recharge time and rotation speed being modified JUST enough to give someone an edge but not be obvious. The same went for actual ship size, I remember I used to see a few players ships go a little too far into rocks, and only a direct hit would kill them, everything else would hit a wing or some other section of the ship and it would just show as an eat.

So basically it is pointless in warbirds especially but I suppose it doesn't hurt either.
