After Daldur begging me (literally) for days to do TWLB predictions, I ended up doing this. I should have just listened to Ease's advice and ?ignore him, but I guess I'm too kind to do that. Hope you get eaten by sharks, you aussie.
Turban's TWLB Week 1 Preview
As no one had the courage (or time, or just couldn't bother to) write a preview on TWLB this week, I ended up doing it.
This is a pretty good weekend for TWLB with some great matchups such as Respect vs Mad and Thunder vs Sage. Match of the Week is definitely Respect vs Mad, where two powerhouse squads meet to settle the score.
Dice, Respect and Mad all managed to go undefeated in Pre-Season, could these three squads be the ones fighting for the title? Thank God this is not the case. Thunder, Sage and Penetrate are all strong contesters this season if they get their lineups to work.
Nonetheless, this season should be magnificent. Looking forward to playing this season. Now let's get started..
Brainwave vs TechuniquE
It's a battle between two of the lower-tier squads this season. Brainwave and TechuniquE fought against eachother in the first week of pre-season, where Brainwave won the close match by 3 minutes and 13 seconds. This is alsoe the reason my reason why they should be able to win this match.
By the way isn't most of the players in TechuniquE from DSB? Wrong zone, guys!
Brainwave
Terrier: Mikkiz
Sharks: Downfall & Milpitas
Fighters: Rucci, AcidBomber, Dutch Baser, Ronny and Trasher
Substitutes: Meddi, Tj Hazuki, Frank the Tank, Soilderz and Poni
TechuniquE
Terrier: Breezy
Sharks: MulletKid & RageRitual
Fighters: Midoent, Temporary, Pardon, Spell and Undercut
Substitutes: Sulla, Concentrated and Xerax
Score: 15:00 - 09:32 (Brainwave wins)
MVP: Rucci
Penetrate vs Rapid
Another not-so-great match, nothing you should look forward to. Rapid did manage to beat Penetrate in pre-season, but now that the real deal is starting, I just can't see Rapid (a lower-tier squad) to defeat the defending champions. Unless miracles happen, there's no way Rapid is going to stand a chance against Penetrate. I wonder if Lunch3 is back now..
Penetrate
Terrier: Dead_Rain
Sharks: Jeenyuss & Veloce
Fighters: Royst, Turmio, Lunch3, Minotar and Leitz
Substitutes: Duel Pasta, Fermata, Struck and Tsumetai
Rapid
Terrier: JeBu
Sharks: Creature & Poseidon
Fighters: DF, Herbalist Yangyun, Arobas+, Paegus and Baron Munchausen (BrokenConnection)
Substitutes: Lifter, Scold, Violence and Golden_Aim
Score: 15:00 - 4:59 (Penetrate wins)
MVP: Royst / Lunch3
Dice vs Anti-Scrub
Dice with their camping spiders (don't get me wrong, they are all great spiders) are going to destroy Anti-Scrub, just like they did in first week of pre-season. I sure hope that Dice will start to push and be more aggressive in their matches against Respect, Thunder and Mad, otherways they might be screwed. Nevertheless, Dice should win this with no problem. Looks like Timchi is back and terrin', wonder how he will do..
Dice
Terrier: Tim
Sharks: Cig Smoke & Riske
Fighters: Mess, Megaman89, Jamal, Shayde and Stayon
Substitutes: Renzi, Domi, Chief Ustav, Dwopple, Grandmastahs, Caos, Jrahen and Paska
Anti-Scrub
Terrier: Brookus
Sharks: Ephemeral & Jr5
Fighters: Solacer, Lai, Pressure Drop, Exotic and Eeks
Substitutes: Bartman, Schope Norris, Teh Super, Epic Li, Pavement and Sprained
Score: 15:00 - 2:43 (Dice wins)
MVP: Shayde
Sage vs Thunder
Sage is filled with european players, just like me, that are blessed with the holy lag. Thunder will counter that lag with the greatest player in the game, Daldur. Thank god Eelam is finally gone, you don't have to stand his requests to terrier every single match now. :fear:
Now let's get back to reality. Both of these squads are among the best this season, so it should be a great match. I will most definitely watch this one, as I feel that Thunder has yet to show their full potential (lost both of their matches in pre-season). Sage has the advantage in terriers, having both Zizu (one of the greatest terriers) and Kawrae, though Thunder does have an excellent (almost up to par with Zizu) terrier, Necromotic. Take my advice, do not terr Raples for this match. He's not ready for it.
Thunder has slightly better spiders and sharks, but if Humid is going to camp his usual way, that might cost Thunder their game. Don't get too cosy in that ear, Humid!
For once Thunder hasn't scheduled their match at 1-3PM EST, so Daldur can sleep for an extra hour or two (so he only has to wake up at 6AM!) to either bench or get played for pity.
Thunder
Terrier: Necromotic
Sharks: Fizzy & Stabwound
Fighters: Ease, Humid, Mouse, Daldur and Burnt
Substitutes: Raples (Spider/Terr), Max B, i.d., Reaver and Chuckle
Sage
Terrier: Zizu
Sharks: Apocalypse WOW! & Mootland Farmer (?)
Fighters: Spikey, Kawrae, Gazo, Trouper and Kess
Substitutes: NL>Trigger, Dixy, I, robot, Major Crisis, Sheep, Whimp and Rauta
Score: 15:00 - 13:52 (Sage pulls an upset win)
MVP: Zizu (unless Necromotic javs, then MVP would be Spikey or Humid)
Mad vs Respect
Match of the Week for a couple of reasons..
#1: Two of the three strongest squads (Dice) in this season facing eachother.
#2: Was on Respect for a quite a while, great squad. Enjoyed my time there.
#3: Whoever wins this one might be getting the #1 / #2 seed for Playoffs
Both of these squads are lacking still in one important part; neither one of them have a good terrier. Both squads have great sharks and powerhouse spiders, which will make this a truly interesting match to watch and play (hope that I don't have that weird 790ms for this match, really looking forward to playing it!).
Respect has a great chemistry between most of the players, though, they do have some weaknesses. Eelam joining their squad might have actually weakened them as a team, not making them any stronger. My advice would be that leave him out of the big games, unless he has finally learnt his position and realized that he's not a god damn terrier/shark. Respect has great Sharks and Spiders, but are lacking in Terriers. They have Dreamwin (who is so obvious with his portals) and Diakka (not sure how to comment on that one).
Mad has a lot of potential to be great. We have great sharks and spiders, but also the same problem as Respect has. We do not have any good terriers (unless you count Scoop and Zizzo as one, which I don't). Me and Ro are unstoppable together, we are going to destroy everything that comes on our way (unless I lag like last week).
Respect
Terrier: Dreamwin
Sharks: Menelvagor & Vatican Assassin
Fighters: Hellkite, FiftySeven, Zung, Sarger and Cripple
Substitutes: Eelam, Diakka, McVicar, Spezza and Cypre
Mad
Terrier: Zizzo
Sharks: Mattey & PH
Fighters: Ro, Turban, M_M God, Poxy and Remu
Substitutes: Solidify, Scoop, Cranium, Blood, Might and Vys
Score: 15:00 - 13:59 (Mad wins)
MVP: Ro
Au revoir, going out for a while.
