My opinion is that shit talking isn’t going to help the zone long-term because while some may enjoy it, some do not. This seems to be especially true with new players trying to break into the game. But I guess no one has the right to define what is fun for anyone else, if shit talking is fun for some so be it. I would assume the old adage of 'birds of a feather stick together' applies here and eventually (if not already) TW will become filled mostly with those who think shit talking is fun and a smaller amount of players who either don’t care or can ignore it.
IRL shit talking is often limited with those whom we feel closest to and know very well and isn't risked, for example, when you are in a business meeting or standing in the grocery line. But online we all get to be whatever kinds of assholes we want to be, there isn't much incentive in being nice. TW's attempts to try to deter parts of this (i.e. anti-racism efforts) has not been very effective, often giving those who think shit talking is fun a cause to rally around. Again just my opinion, but I think that free speech comes with responsibility. And part of that responsibility includes consideration of others.

Look, you can't please everyone. If you don't like Paul's style, don't read this thread or reply to it. When I clicked on the thread, I didn't go "cool, a hot or not/predictions thread", I went " Let's see what Paul has to say." If his vulgarity was too much, make your own thread. This is absurd.

Trash talk is what it is, just garbage and unsubstantial. To me it makes stuff a little more interesting, although I don't really do it. Others might not like it, but that's why there's a ignore command right? 9 times out of 10, those who dislike shit talking don't like the person who is shit talking so the ignore command shouldn't affect them. Also, there aren't that many trash talkers, it gets extrapolated because those who do, do it all the time. It also seems to predominate in the wb dueling league, but I could be wrong. Just started playin again after 2 years so thing could have changed, but from what I've seen, its predominately the same.

I hope you guys realize that with every post I read saying "everyone tries really hard, puts forth a great effort, and dog gone it some of us are sensitive ok????" just makes this thread that much more entertaining for me to read. I could have written a factual play by play with no bias involved at all, and gotten 15 responses all saying "nice read" or "thanks for the time". Or I could talk shit about some worthless fucks and stir up some controversy and get a bunch of you queers all riled up. This is a dying league in a dying game where a bunch of you fucks have all gotten bored and complacent, so maybe something like this generates a small rivalry or a little more interest in the league, who knows?
