If we're concerned about fostering new players -- and one of the main issues we've discussed is the huge gap in ability between new players and vets (many with 5 to 10k hours over 10 years -- about the same time it takes to become a grandmaster in chess), why don't we have a concurrent B-league during TWL?

We probably don't have enough squads to support it, but you could just make it a sign-up league, 8 teams, randomly assign them to those teams and have 1 vet cap them. I think we can find 8 people willing to help out. Moreover they all play in all 3 leagues giving them a chance to play every ship, and avoid the newbie-crushing uber-nerds busy in TWL. Everyone gets playing time in regular season, then the best/most-active you start in the playoffs.

You could even increase involvement by making these 8-10 temporary B-league TWL teams farm teams under the TWL squads, giving the vets some incentive to help them out and train them. You then add the winner of all 3-leagues to it's own TWL History page. So if the winners are Dice B, Thunder B and Paladen B -- it's cool for those vets because despite having no say in the roster of those B-squads they probably casually helped out those teams with some guidance or whatnot -- and with the unlimited TWD roster you could even add them to your squad to help train them so your farm team has a better chance of winning and thus your squads name on the TWL History page of the B-league.

We have needed a B-League in tw for years now - I remember making threads 5-6 years ago trying to get them implemented to help out newer emerging players. Please someone do this, this is how you can get players sticking around to progress from the B-league to twl. Lesser known/newer players need a competitive league that they can play in (twd doesnt count), even TWDT which is aimed to throw random players together pretty much ends up with the already established players playing and the newer players riding the bench the entire season.

I don't think you guys realize how few 'newer players' would be interested in a league like that. Good idea to implement, but not worth it until you see enough of the population who shows interested in something like that.

How about 15-20 of the best players in the game all spread out for a change and make this alll REALLL easy. So we can have some fun competition! O wait Dice and Thunder rather circ jerk with same people til death

I think the thing that needs to be looked at most would be the option to postpone games. Should be one of the first changes considered.

Would love for another and yet more extreme roster cap, but I'd also like some sort of player application that gives a squad more of a commitment from that player, maybe applying for a certain amount of weeks with an option to extend if he actually enjoys the squad or a penalty on his name if he leaves during his contract.

Make some changes within the next couple of weeks and reset ladder for TWL season...new rules and a lot more restrictions on players joining/leaving and w/e else will give a slight indication of who will still be around for when TWL starts. The sooner we get this done the bigger the picture will be for us to see how many people are going to be around for TWL. As someone said before, they need to play a certain amount of games for a squad to be eligible for TWL. So for all those who are playing D3 and only showing up when they want to, GL benching.

I like the slot idea, but I'm going to add a few changes.

If everyone is so worried about twd/medals/inactive players. Why not just let a squad choose only 10 players to take part in twld, then another 10 to take part in twlj, then 16 players to play twlb. This is enough players to make two teams. Players can be used in all 3 leagues if chosen for all 3 leagues.

Players not selected for their league can not play twl games for their team in a league they are not chosen in. They will also not receive any medals for a league they didn't play in. If a member is part of the twld team and not the twlj team. Then if the twlj team wins the season they receive no medal for twlj. Since they are not apart of the twlj team.

This forces players not on the list to create, join, or stay.
This removes medals awarded for afkers/friends so the zone isn't full of medals.
This creates more teams to compete.
This allows more gaming politics.
This keeps the twd players/teams happy with the twd area.

This allows squads to be maximized for twd and competition.
If two members"possible 4 in twlb" of a team quits or is fired they can be replaced only in the mid season.
