I honestly don't care if there's a TWIB or not, maybe you can go host it like thix tried a few years back and see how you can handle it. It'll be hard putting a TWIB league in if alot of people aren't going to input their support, especially with the limited staff we have.
My experience is the reason why I have the "signature" you were mocking me on. Maybe if you spent the same amount of time I have practicing you'd be in the same boat I'm in.

It's NOT relevant because neither you nor I have downloaded this game recently. And you're still using ad hominem on me despite it being irrelevant.

Your suggestion is unnecessary because people have played continuum for YEARS without taking money for it. People have played leagues for YEARS with no cash incentive.

THERE IS NO INCENTIVE FOR NEW PLAYERS TO PLAY LEAGUES AT ALL.

LEAGUERS WILL LEAGUE NO MATTER WHAT.

My suggestion for an amateur league is necessary now, to give people that aren't part of the top 5 squads that dominate TW leagues a chance to play and get better.

You're still missing the point.

I'm not necessarily talking about "new" people IE people that have never been in a league game before, or squads that don't have titles. I'm talking about NEW new people, people that have just downloaded the game recently.

People that have been playing for a while are already able to grind and practice, to get better among people that have also played for years, yet have never made a serious league effort, which is what you are talking about. These people may be "new" in the sense that they are new to league games, but are still familiar with continuum and TW.

Still, a lot of people that have been playing for years either have never tried to get into league games, or aren't interested in them. (consider me in the latter category, I could get in leagues or more organized competition if I wanted to, but I don't take this game seriously enough for it)

I'm talking about a system where NEW players that wish to have a more structured competition than just shooting afks in pub or dueling can have the opportunity to fight other people that are also new to the game, under the direction of an experienced and knowledgable coach. There's a difference between a "new" leaguer that has 8 years of usage and a new player with less than a year tallied. TW should be focusing on the latter category.



Still doesn't fix the underlying problem (that completely new players download the game, but bounce right off) but TW's efforts (and money) should be directed towards new players, not established players. As I've already said multiple times, established players will always play until they get bored and eventually quit, but we aren't attracting anyone new.

Really, we need to focus on getting a fancy tutorial before anything else.

And about TWDT, I disagree with the rating system (makes new players have less confidence) and captains in TWDT still pick people based on how good they are. More experienced players get even more experience, and that's not what I'm talking about.

Just randomly assign new players into squads with randomly assigned captains and go from there, everything will be even.

I did TWD stuff a long time ago when I had more time for playing continuum. I don't take a 2d spaceship game seriously enough for it anymore.

I don't know what you mean by "new players learn from someone who sucks." If you're talking about my amateur league idea, it's supposed to be experienced coaches teaching new players how to compete.

Again, insults with zero substance based only on gameplay experience on a 2d spaceship game aren't going to help grow TW.
