Dudgeon vs Cobra

Upset of the Week

Mikkiz (35-2, 2 teks) returned to the fray this week with a staggering 500bty performance on-pace to notch the ace before dying at 14:40 and generously giving Cobra a respite. After a week that saw The Dudgeonites fall to Spastic with Dreamwin in terr, DUMBWIN (77-51) led the charge with an impressive 3 teks, whilst ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Gilder (67-24) dominated the under and was 4:1 at one point, sizzling the opposition with lasers.

Melanoma (68-46) and Zizzo (73-46) played excellent over as well, pushing hard behind nokkonen (2.9 RPD) and Pardon (2.8 RPD), with a solid 2 teks from Sakke (58-37) to round out Dudgeon's stellar upset and first win of the season (Kudos for not dissolving/ragequitting like everyone else!)

On Cobra's side, it was NO RENZI, NO WIN as the snakecharmers fell for the second week in a row, despite Creature (2.9 RPD) returning to shark with big Dwop (2.8 RPD). The lackluster squad saw terrmaster Chief Utsav's (29-10, 0 teks) first poor performance of the season, further marred by an ignominious sub-out of flared (13-16) for infrared (44-30) who himself was negging the majority of the game, leaving Necomotic (65-53), Sleazy (66-44), Murder (61-50) and Turbad (57-45) to try to keep the sinking ship afloat.

HOT: Mikkiz, 500bty rockstar performance, and 30 seconds away from the ace
NOT: Chief Utsav, who'd been stellar all season, with a disappointing 10-death performance. Needed to be almost perfect to give Cobra a chance.


Pandora vs. Sweet
15:00-12:27
Match of the Week

Leitz (107-65) continued to put up strong numbers as Pandora steamrolled Sweet (should have ended 15-9 but Pandora got tim'd as he died holding cram for no reason, giving Sweet a 4 minute cram). sarger (104-73) and Ayn (90-56) provided the necessary firepower in the over to stop Cripple (120-56) and megaman89 (92-57), while Kate Upton (81-52) protected under, and finally Undercut (93-64) put up respectable numbers to account for the two-time finalists win.

tim (39-6, 4 teks) was serviceable in terr, despite at least two terr-ible deaths, whilst Mattey (2.9 RPD) and Vati (3.1) had a strong sharking game, bullying LF (2.7) and Hulk (2.9) around, and giving Pandora the edge, despite a 527-525 score.

Behind Sweets two Dice all-stars followed the ever-campy cremation (95-57), sphinx (92-60), and Eelam (83-65). Burnt (29-10, 1 tek) undertook ship 5 duties once again.

HOT: Mattey/Vati, for some top-notch sharking and shifting the tides of battle despite evenly matched spiders.
NOT: LF. Outsharked, out-captained, and rage-quitting his own squad after losing, ready to run back to dice and hope mega will let him off the bench and joke shark after tab/a2m assure victory. but not before a healthy deposit to his paypal account.


Penetrate vs Spastic
15:00-5:51

Only match I didn't see, so I'll make vague assumptions about what happened.

Penetrate ousted Spastic in typical fashion, as the dynamic duo of Veloce and fermata shackled spastic into a corner the whole game, whilst a near perfect Cintra (35-1, 2 teks) anchored the two-time champs.

domi (102-46) camped his way to bot-mvp, despite Trasher's (89-32) best efforts to usurp the title, leaving Blahhy. (85-53) and Krage (52-40) as meat shields while Acidbomber (68-34) did his thing under.

An absent Eria forced JAMAL to shark with Gran Guerrero, and poxy was nowhere to be found, depleting their spider power and leaving RUCCI (62-52), SPRAINED (71-45), and SPIDERHATE (82-60) undermanned on over. Pyroblast (55-44) and CJW (44-67) got massacred under by the under-specialist Acid.

Pure Luck couldn't match his heroics from weeks prior with a 17-12.

HOT: domi, outkilling everyone -- but mercifully not lag-javing
NOT: CJW, 44-67, negging while rest of squad positive


Sage vs Raid
15:00-1:20

Sage's depleted roster managed to muster up 7 players to take on Raid, as Da1andonly (14-7) took up terring duties behind superstar-prokiller (2.4 RPD - not a typo) and spikey (1.9 RPD -- not a typo).

Ogron (47-29), Havu (41-31), Zyclon (33-35) and NL>Trigger (32-40) took on fighter-ship duties Zzzzz... huh, who, what... sorry, fell asleep there.

Best, bon, kira, kyou, and lifter played retard ships, with nowyoudie sharking and Reaver terring

Clouse house, I honestly thought that after I smashed the shit out of you last week that you would give up with these laughable shout-outs, but I guess not. In the past, I only had subspace text to go by, so when I've tried to determine the type of person you are in real life, it was pretty much 50/50 with regard to whether or not you were a complete fucking loser. After squadding with you for a week (before we made it clear that you were unwanted and made you leave), after taking a look at your gallery shots, and especially after hearing your voice in your hilariously dorky commentary, it has become clear as FUCK what type of person you are. Do I even need words to describe it?



Nothing makes me happier than seeing your hopes of not only having any sort of fun this season, but ever winning a TWLB title period, diminish. I'm having a decently successful season thus far, while your stake in TWL has become completely nonexistent. The only role you play now is these stupid ass threads. How can you even call those people out, when it is so blatantly obvious that they are infinitely better than you are in every aspect of this game, and life? You literally are a no-shipping loser, and you spend way too much time on SS.

How upset are you that you failed so MISERABLY this season and wasted allllll that time practicing, and building up your hope pre-season? Probably about as upset as you are when you spend all this time on write-ups only to receive 2-3 comments. Learn your place scrub.

lol just because we lost does not mean I got bullied, and since when does 15-12 equal a steamroll? I understand you are bias as fuck because you don't like me and can't play at the same level as most people but get real. It was a good game, we had spider advantage, sharks were even, the difference was silly terr deaths and we had a couple extra than they did. In fact the one shark that MIGHT be capable of bullying me in this entire zone (mattey)...didn't, at least not this game. Out of the 4 games I've ever played against him on Thunder/Pandora this is actually the first time Ive ever lost in TWLB so not sure why you think I ride the bench so much.

In regards to your wall of shame/squad hoppers... Mega and crip didn't leave, they were axed by an emotional riverside. I left because with them our chances for anything in 2 out of 3 leagues left. Do you also realize that most of those people on Sage left because of players like YOU and Monk <ER>? When you compete at a high level successfully for many many years and then have to resort to playing the "elite" league with players like the two of you, its no wonder they all jumped ship. That covers most of your list except Thix, who is thix and abandons his team every single year anyways and other players who probably wouldn't have ever played anyways.

Spastic did not get ousted by Penetrate. The game was pretty evenly match up, but Penetrate just had more control of the flag, resulting in the 15-5. Most of the battle was done in FR, but their was a time were Penetrate had a good solid three-four minute cram which gave them the huge lead and in the end, the win.

Not that I give a shit what you think, but let's get something straight.

Penetrate - We won LB, and despite respectably benching behind Dead_Rain I logged ~400 days with them that season
Sweet - I lagged too badly to play LB because my college connection sucked and I couldn't play, yet I still did my best to help build the LB line there
Disoblige - They were not only a lost cause in basing, but every league, yet I stuck it out and did my best to make it work for the sake of TWLB and the competition
Fierce - We had a pretty good line but didn't execute, again I did my best to make it work for the sake of TWLB and the competition
Raid - Did my best to make it work, had too many elites bail, and when push came to shove it wasn't worth sacrificing the rest of my school semester focusing on a squad that had no hope of winning

So when you say that I abandon my team every year, is that just your shattered ego speaking? With the spider line you fielded today, Burnt could have done just fine if hulk had a better partner. Face it, you got smoked in shark today, and sabotaged your squad's chances at LB. If you were to compare the one time I "abandoned" my squad (Raid) with your failure with Sweet in LB, I'd say we're about even. How can you even say anything? You had megaman and cripple on your LB line, what's your excuse for all those losses? When was the last time those two were unsuccessful together?

Today we lost a close game that could have very easily gone either way to a squad that a lot of people consider one of the favorites, even if I have no idea why... with a warbird in terr who has never terr'd an LB game in his life before this season

We lost to penetrate because well...its penetrate and they are a better basing squad than sweet + cripple didnt even play that game

Our loss to cobra was an embarrassment and would never have happened if any combination of our actual sharks had actually showed, hulk was all alone out there.

Im not here to make excuses for our losses, with raid and sage games coming up we were guaranteed a playoff spot and pretty much guaranteed a first round win (vs cobra or spastic), and even if that was the extent of our journey I would have considered that a successful one. I knew coming into this season that I would not win LB and I gave 7 players who have never seen LB time ever before a chance to play this season. My leaving was a result of a butthurt riverside and a huge mistake on his behalf that 30 people now have to live with as they struggle to stay above water in LB and LJ the rest of the season. I am an infinitely less selfish and an infinitely more successful captain than you will ever be, and I dont even like doing it. At least people enjoy playing with/for me
