currently the regular season is way too short, and quite frankly, pointless. there isn't enough matches to have an exciting ladder, although the top seeds would probably still dominate, and by increasing the amount of games played (on a weekly basis) squads get the option to even rotate their lineup(s) for matches, giving other players some valuable playtime and experience. nowadays, you simply log in to play one match, that might only last for 10 minutes, then log off for another week. that's something i would rather avoid.

Has the idea of two games on Sunday been proposed? Meaning every squad in LJ plays TWO LJs. Every squad in LB plays TWO LBs, etc. Maybe go from 12-6 (if someone oversleeps a game, no biggie, they will be able to play the 2nd one). I really don't mind playing an LJ at 7pm on a Tuesday, but the Euros will.

i can see why we aren't on the same page due to the way how tsunami phrased his opening post. my apologies for any misunderstandings, let me clear out some of them.

most of us will agree that currently the regular season is far too boring (and thus, long) and that's something we wanted to address with our initial suggestion.

we want to double the amount of games played in TWLJ and TWLD, increasing the total amount of games from 7 to 14 without touching the amount of weeks that we have in a full season, to give players additional playing time in the league, and more importantly give the players more chances to play. we would not increase the amount of games played in TWLB as on average the basing matches lasts somewhere between 18 to 24 minutes and requires more players for squads to be eligible for the match.

what are we trying to accomplish with this change? i believe that most of the squads, especially the competitive ones, are not too happy about the current regular season as it's silly to only log in once a week for a 10 minute match and they won't be able to give all their players (who deserve it) enough play time due to the one match / week limitation. we were also thinking about simply making the games a Bo2 series (e.g. with 2-0 your squad would get 3 points, and with 1-1 both squads would get one point), but some of our TWL operators found that idea rather silly thus we scrapped it for now. we want to encourage captains to give their benching players more games in the regular season, as they might have helped the squad to qualify and deserve to get to play at least once or twice, and to make make the regular season ladder a bit more exciting (it would still be dominated by the best squads, at least the middle/bottom parts of the ladder should see more rank changes) and that's why we suggested this type of change. of course, this change wouldn't come without its bad sides (e.g. one key player could miss two important games in a week), but i feel like the pros outweigh the cons in this one.

we increased the time slots from the original 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM to 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM to allow more freedom in scheduling. we felt like 7 PM would be pushing it too far, especially for the European players, and that's why we decided against that suggestion.

hopefully that was clear enough.

NOTE: if you have any suggestions, solutions for our current plans or ideas to improve them, or if you simply are against the some of our proposals, please let us know! we aren't psychics and want the players to help us so that we can lay a good foundation for the future seasons. everything is still open for discussion, but the time is running out as we want to finalize the changes as soon as possible.

If lack of hosts isn't a problem, It would be great to have 2 games in LB aswell. I believe most of the basers agree.

if there's enough interest and active squads, then sure. i would be worried about the three league squads, but they should be able to manage with the increased twl roster limits and our new hard lock / soft lock dates.

I think the primary concern with 2 TWLB games in one week was time. Basing matches tend to run on the longer side. If enough people want two LB games in one week however, I'm sure we could manage to fit them in.

been working on a rather simple idea for TWLD.

we will most likely change the asteroid positions on a weekly basis. this should be an interesting change as players would have to adjust to the new positions of the asteroids. players that are more skilled and have better adaptability would be at a slight advantage.

thoughts? i see no reason not to implement this.

I have no objection to this based on the fact I have never really paid attention to where rocks are actually placed on the map ever, I just fly around. I assume we are talking random positioning and not intending to say....cram the bottom left corner with 50% of the rocks?

P.S Place all the rocks along the bottom wall, let's see how Welt manoeuvres around them then!
