Sigh,

no one is discrediting what Fork has contributed to this game or his undying passion to the game, but it still doesn't give him the right to screw over an entire squad and abuse his position of trust. If someone is given that kind of a special priviledge, it is only natural for them to receive a harsher punishment if they happen to abuse their newly acquired position and power.

I was being as lenient as I could, but even then there is no way I can turn a blind eye to what happened when someone, who clearly should have known better, abuses his position to gain an advantage for his squad, and while the plan ended up backfiring miserably due to him getting caught, he still managed to screw over his squad and their TWL plans during the final week of TWL qualifications. I feel that this punishment is the bare minimum that he has to serve for what he did to the zone, the integrity of the TWL qualifications and his squad. If this case had happened years ago, back when we had a healthier population, Paladen would not have gotten to participate in TWLD and Fork would be serving a much harsher punishment by me or anyone else in my position.

The fact of the matter is that Fork has yet to send a formal apology to us or his squad about what happened, and while we made sure that this will not happen in the future with the newbie squads by removing their point gain, which was technically an oversight by staff members who initiated this program, he still abused his position of trust and had to pay the price.

This ban could have been up for contention if Fork had been fully apprehensive of his options and admitted that he was wrong, and apologized to all the members of staff and our players, and most importantly his squad for what he did to them all. He clearly is not playing with a full deck of cards, and should not expect to get paroled by me. He has yet to come up with a comprehensive argument, and insists on showing signs of immaturity and ignorance by being overly defensive. It would have never crossed my mind as a player to abuse a position such as the one you had, and truthfully speaking the lack of common sense and sheer stupidity are not valid reasons to lift your current ban. There might have been the slightest bit of a chance, weeks ago, for me to actually lower your punishment by a small amount, but that boat sailed away the moment you started acting innocent and vulnerable, and blaming me for favoritism or bias that doesn't even exist.

You have lost your one and only chance, and this ban will not be lifted by me.

I swear some of these players would walk into their own parole board meeting and start flaming the parole board members and their victims. These type players deserve to be banned just for stupidity.

There was an apology on this post but edited because i didn't realize how contracting/ irrational/ inconsiderate Turban is.

You have to realize that, yes i may have done a stupid/ dumb thing but when the population is dropping as low as it is + i already got punished from:

1) Having twd points taken away from paladen so that they couldnt qualify for twlj (a goal i was trying to achieve all season)
2) Getting banned from being allowed on a double squad

Is a twl ban really necessary? What further harm could i have done without being on the squad Play?

What Turban fails to understand is: While he is being very strict on me regarding the rules... 2 other people that broke the rules didn't get any punishment.

Yet he clearly he is failing to treat his ban procedures equally as hes ignoring the rules with the other guys while studying the rules to see what maximum damage he can get out of me.

i would like to point out that the general consensus of this thread is quite worrisome and confirmed some of the fears that i had about this community, despite the sample pool being fairly small and only reflecting the feelings of a small amount of our players. it seems that several of these players that commented basically expect almost anyone that has contributed anything to the game to be exempt from all the rules as they are helping the zone with their actions or simply to get treated differently.

no, these players should not be treated like they are above everyone else; they are not above the rules which have been set in place for a good reason. we are all players of this zone and should be treated equally. we, as the players, staff and zone, appreciate all the help we can get, whether it's in the forms of donations or simply being helpful in general, but it doesn't give anyone the right to start breaking the rules. the moment we start pardoning someone because of their contributions in the past, everyone else will expect to get the same treatment and that will be the final blow to the zone.

those rules are there for a good reason. however, if someone has been banned unjustifiably then the players and staff have a reason to complain, and rightfully so. that is my stance on the matter, and it has been like that for as long as i can remember.

man this game is dying so hard, we should not be punishing people this severely. ive seen fork be an active contributor to this zone for years now and he does not deserve to be punished this hard. this isnt 2003 where theres 500 active twders, it's 2014 where we have about 30 and fork is one of them. smarten the ** up

But it's apparently fine if you feed for the advantage of getting other squads up the ladder? Zizzo and Undercut were feeding blatantly in two twjd games that I watched (not sure if Fork recorded the first, but he recorded another where Zizzo and others were clearly playing badly on purpose compared to their usual skill level), and Undercut is a staff member. Isn't Undercut supposed to be setting an example? Why does this keep getting ignored each time? Why do Thunder get to play in TWLJ and Paladen don't since they've commited about the same amount of crimes?

As I said the other day. One rule for Fork (and possibly Paladen), one rule for all the other people who cheated. And it would appear, one ring to rule them all.

I reported one game, it may have been the first Undercut/Zizzo match. ShaddowKnight responded. He joined, and then left the arena 30seconds later, apparently not giving a toss. Favouritism? (ShaddowKnight is in LEGO and the match was Thunder vs LEGO). I was also playing in the RaCka match and specced report/screenshot it, and was rather amused when Undercut responded to my first ?help request.

The problem is with the clear inequality being shown. The way it was treated is that Fork fed every game he played in, when it was actually about the same amount of feeding that Thunder were doing over those 2 or 3 days. If anyone bothered to check the scores, he was playing normally in many of them, but games like this (Freq 1 swapped for Fork) were just deleted anyway.

I'm also not saying they shouldn't have been deleted. Removing those games regardless is a punishment in its own right and it would have been the first thing I would have done. But it does seem evident there's been some sort of witch hunt against Fork for one reason or another. The extent of Fork's feeding has been exaggerated while other squads who were feeding just as much have been given zero acknowledgement beyond RaCkA's slap on the wrist and that one game removed. But again, if the same logic given to Fork had been applied, a handful of other games should have been removed if RaCka were found to be playing them, but that didn't happen because it's Thunder.

Ultimately, this is a pointless debate. The rules are always bent in Trench Wars to keep certain individuals/squads happy and this is no different.

Actually Shaddowknight and I have nothing to do with it, Morh. Once the contract was renewed with vBulliten (a process we were not part of), the contract required forums to be absent certain content as laid out in the "filter" thread, which quotes part of the contract. So Demonic, who is in charge of handling that, implemented the current system. So if you had to thank someone, it would be her.
