Dudgeon
Terriers: Mikkiz, Heaven
Sharks: Commodo, Porkjet, nokkonen, Omega Red
Spiders: Stayon, Zizzo, megaman89, Mcvicar, Dreamwin, maketso, jamal
Dudgeon, since its current inception has been a dominant basing force due to its small size and consistent roster rotation. These players have been playing with themselves for a good while now as a unit and can play multiple roles within a base team. Their small size can also be their downfall as missing 1-2 key starters could mean losing their edge due to the roster being so small. Last year we saw Mikkiz lagging out during finals and Dreamwin replaced him and went on to win the championship, so there are some who can fill the gaps if needed but I think the lack of depth could be this squad's weakness.
Prediction: Finals
Cobra
Terriers: Pressure, Pure_Luck, Wax
Sharks: menelvagor, Jerome
Spiders: Squallff8, Trasher, Spiderhate, Ricko, Rodney, kyler, Absent, raminator, shadowmere
This squad is fairly new as far as their basing unit goes with a lot of their key basing players joining them in the last month or less. They don’t have that much experience basing together (in Cobra?) going into TWL so I think that will be a problem for them since their chemistry hasn’t been given much time to develop. They have great depth at terrier but that’s where I stop seeing them competing at a top level. Their shark is menelvagor, a seasoned veteran and LB caliber laggot but I don’t know yet who they’ll pair him with. Their spider line looks like it needs a few more couple of full-time spiders to round them out in order to be able to compete. I can predict their spider line to have trouble against peoples like Dudg, Fierce, and Burn.
Prediction: Semi-finals
Fierce
Terriers: Everett, Apricot
Sharks: Oder, Downfall
Spiders: cripple, sphinx, wbm, usoi, Sprained, Last Standing, Oderus Urungus, kado
This squad I think is the sort of dark horse coming into the tournament. They’ve done a good job of scooping up top talent in the basing department and look to win it all. They have good depth at terrier with Everett and Apricot, with others being able to fill in if needed. Their sharks are more than solid and will take their far into the tournament as well. Their spider line is great but I feel like it needs 1-2 more top talent to round them out. They have seasoned veterans like cripple, sphinx, and sprained, but I don’t think these guys can carry the weaker side of their spider line against the elite squads. They’ll make some waves and splashes but I don’t see them beating Burn or Dudgeon.
Prediction: Semi-finals
Burn
Terrers: Cape, diakka, Tim
Sharks: Mattey, Zidane, ph, Mythril
Spiders: Ogron, kess, hellkite, davy, diakka, Jack, Hulk, bumpa, undercut, Weaver
This squad seems to come out of nowhere and has grown to titanic sizes thanks to Zidane’s recruiting capabilities. They have stopped at nothing recruiting every other elite baser under the sun that isn’t tagged “Dudgeon” and have crippled other squads’s basing lines in the process. They have great depth and skill at all 3 positions making them a clear favorite to win TWLB this year.
Their terriers are seasoned and experienced, their sharks are top level finalists laggots, and their spider line can do smack anybody else’s on any given day. These guys will probably make the final and face Dudgeon where they’ll get promptly smacked back to retirement, but in all seriousness Zidane has built a squad able to compete in 3 leagues at the highest level once again despite ballooning in roster size while snatching other squad’s last breath at a chance at competing in this TWL.
Prediction: Finals
Lego
Terriers: Zizu
Sharks: Vatican Assassin, Nanto, Markmrw
Spiders: Jatt, Producer, TheWadoRooster, Spikey, TJ Hazuki, Yawn, Mango. Gurliver, Trance
This squad 3 months ago was looking really solid but with the departure of ex-Dudgeon members and now their most current mass defection to Burn has left this squad devoid of probably 7/8 starters. They most certainly have the capability still of fielding a solid basing line but clearly not as competitive as it once looked. They’ll fight valiantly as they do every year but the departure of those players will be too big shoes to fill for the remaining players left. Though they can always show in sheer numbers, and they do have subs available at every position, they just aren’t as good as the elite squads in the league, pound for pound.
Prediction: Knocked out
Potenza
Terriers: Cape? (nm)
Sharks: fram?
Spiders: Mr. Tinkles, haze, mikes, tanzu, outshined
I’m not sure if these guys can field 8 people for basing anymore besides fillers. They seem like they’re built for another league, warbird perhaps? They didn’t really stand a chance even with Cape on the squad and now that he’s gone well I just don’t think they can win more than 3 games.
Prediction: Knocked out
Vikings
Terrier: warportal
Sharks: Ephemeral, Riverside, Valker
Spiders: Steep, M_M God ...
I don’t really know Vikings besides that most of them are euros but they don’t really seemed prepared to compete in this league though they might fare better in warbird.
