I would assume a good amount of Americans will have trouble showing this weekend. Can we open a discussion about postponing July 4th weekend games?

Postponing a TWDT weekend resulted in more problems than it solved, and while there was another option to postpone TWDT last season and that option wasn't used, everything went just fine.

For Americans it's the middle of the day (Sunday the 3rd) that the games are scheduled. You have plenty of time to act according to your evening plans afterwards.
3:Wax> ard and i snapchat all the time
      3:Wax> we play virtually tummysticks
      3:i.d.> da fk is that?
3:Ardour> we basically are each others personal psychologist
3:Shadowmere> i.d., Wax breaks keyboards playing SubSpace. Best not ask him what anything is.
3:Wax> Tummy sticks is the situation, commonly referred to as a game, in which two erect men cuddle closely and face-to-face causing their two erect penises, or sticks, to push upwards between their stomachs, or tummys.
3:Wax> Sticks combine with tummys, hence the name "tummy sticks."
      3:Shadowmere> LOL
3:i.d.> Oddly, that's close to what I thought it was...

Best> I never cooked a day in my life

Up in ya !> l44t feet

it's an all weekend ordeal for many, not just one evening.

How about we put it to a vote for the population to decide? The weekend doesn't have to be postponed, per se, but the schedule can easily be shifted forward one week.

July 4th weekend events typically take place during the day, for the most part. You actually expect people to go to a BBQ, bail in the middle to play TWL, and then return? Or even worse, skip the daytime aspect of the event and show up at night? If I can't show, then I won't show, but I won't be the only one. I do remember certain random European/Canadian holidays causing TWL games to be postponed in the past, so why not accommodate Americans on Independence Day?

as far as I can remember there hasn't been a single time when a European or Canadian holiday that has resulted in the postponement of a season, but major global events such as the Football World Cup Finals have lead into postponements in the past. I personally have never been against delaying the season due to major holidays in the US as most of our active players are from that country, thus it would definitely not hurt to have a poll to see what the players feel about a potential delay.

We launched on steam last year during 4th of July weekend and that worked out great. No need to postpone.
8:Lrim> you guys take this game too seriously

Just put up the postpone announcement up Today/tomorrow, that way everyone knows in advanced. You guys like to wait last minute for everything which is dumb. Save your self the time of fighting with the players. There will be a huge amount of players who won't show, guaranteed. Plus this game is continuum it never fkn ends! What's the big deal of postponing back a week? It will make the games biggest attraction last a week longer, that seems like a win for SS.

as a counter-argument, the regular season games do not matter as much this season as every team will make it to the playoffs. I don't care what the decision is in the end as it is not my call to be made.

Total kills in LD/LJ or time alotted in LB do matter when it comes to seeding in the playoffs

that is actually one of the last conditions to determine a tie-breaker for playoff seeds in the event of there being a tie. here is the official rule:

                          4.07 Playoff Ties

By the end of TWL regular season, if two teams have the same record in a league, the playoff spot will be awarded to the team that defeated the other in the regular season. If the teams both won a match against each other, in the league in question, then in TWLD/TWLJ the team with the fewest deaths across those 2 matches will advance or in TWLB the most flag time. If they happened to be tied in the matches against each other it will go to the team with the fewest deaths across the entire season for TWLD/TWLJ or most flag time across the season for TWLB.

If more than two teams are tied, the winner of regular season games between them will get the spot (e.g. Team A beats Team B and C in regular season, then Team A advances). If Team A beat B, B beat C, and C beat A, the team with the most total kills (TWLD/TWLJ) or most total flag time (TWLB) over the whole regular season will be awarded the playoff spot.

If a replacement squad is tied with another squad for playoffs, the squad that played in TWL longer will win the playoff spot.

Any other subsequent amount of ties will be further discussed by League Staff.

Note: Ties will be resolved in the order they are written above.

it is also a pseudo double-elimination tournament, thus the seeding is not quite as important. however it is still a valid argument to make.
