it seems that in the end the only ones on chat who cared were me herc and evasion...i'm sure a few others cared but at the time it seemed like only us three wanted the show to go on.

    true tyson. . .

now we, melee, get replacement squads for 2/3 leagues this week. . .

shriek woulda rolled over us in lj in week 10 and 1st round playoffs, diso gets to do that now.

on the ld side, melee hasn't had a really tough game (with the delays and a couple not-to-hard matches) in a while. shriek always gave us a fight at the very least, and an asskicking from time to time. u guys were also always there, in yer prime, for twd matches, i think we built up a healthy rivalry at least. . .i was lookin forward to week 10s ld vs u guys, i spose we'll see supremecy instead.

it's kinda odd though how nobody from shriek really seems to care. . .

Most ppl u think r your friends would probably stab u in the back without even knowing or caring since "its just a game" to them, even if its more than that to u.
There's a few flaws in this logic. First, by accepting an invite into TWL, you're pretty much signing up for the long haul (or at least that's how it should be viewed). There are enough players out there who would kill for a chance to get into TWL that people who don't feel like they can stick through ten weeks need to think about not accepting a berth in the league. Seriously, it's ten weeks. Two and a half months of weekends. That's not that much to commit to, and if you have a decent number on your roster, not everyone needs to show up every weekend. Yes, you should play if you're having fun, but don't fuck the rest of the league because you lost a game.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, really, but these things should be a little more thought-out. You may not owe anything to your squad (a notion which I also find kind of funny), but you definitely owe it to the rest of the teams that can be a cohesive unit for ten weeks to finish it out.

more like 5-5. a squad can't even have 3-6 in a ten week league

Well, as several as the posts above relate, it was a fairly large number of variables that caused the actual breakup. The loss probably could be considered as the 'last straw'.
So, while I can agree that it's unfortunate that this has happened, I would not classify it as pitiful. Also understand that the actions of a few should not be held against all involved. Shriek had it’s problems; such as immature players reflecting badly on the squad, a lack of clearly defined direction, a lack of good communication, and a lack of squad discipline. These are the true reasons I think the squad broke up, quitting after losing was merely a symptom for the broken things in the squad. Please note, however, that these same issues exist with many other squads.
