    Hmm, I dont know exactly what the current spawn area looks like, but you are right Epi. It seems a lot more likely to spawn near the middle, else it wouldnt be so common to have two players spawn 6 inches away from each other all the time. I tried to draw a lil pic of what I thought it should look like on my last message, but it came out all messed up for some reason.

    Im not a programmer and have no clue how simple or complicated it is to alter the bots in TW. I just assumed that the system runs a little randomizing program to assign spawn positions given a certain set of parameters (namely the size and location of the spawn area). If the bot only looks at the area it is speccing, does it move around or something? How does roboref determine the locations of players when it sends out those annoying lil "hider" messages?

    I suppose the hardest part is getting the bot to store up-to-date player locations then? Once thats done it shouldnt be too difficult to plug in a "distance from X players condition" into the spawning program, should it? Could get the bot to create a quick list of all locations within the spawn area that are of a certain size and do not contain enemy players. Then randomly assign one of those areas for the freshly-killed player to spawn in. I dont think this would result in many players spawning next to walls Guano, if you set the spawn area as the boundaries. After all, 5 enemy ships cannot possibly occupy the entire spawn area if it is set properly.

    I apologize if Im over-estimating the ease and capability of the programming in TW. Im just thinking in theoretical terms here, but Id like to understand what exactly would be involved and if its practical.

      Well... Pusher did it so i guess i will too :P

      Please dont worry about Spastic having conflict of interest issues. When TWL rolls around I will leave Spastic and remain squadless. I will also leave the Spastic chat so as to remain as unbiased as possible. I hope this somewhat puts this issue to rest.

          Mattey...u dont want ot get rid of Acid....he seems like he dont do alot..but when i was on staff for the brief amount of time on weekends he was there and un afk each and every week @ 12 or earlier (est) till after 5 making everything go smoothly...grant Epi was there most of the time to take charge in alot but Acid seems to be somewhat needed

              I think the 2d spawn control (TWEL controlled by the bot) modified for the TWL will work wonders.

              Well, I could carefully think of all the ways this could be done and present the solution packed ready for the picking. Unfortunately I will be unable to spend that much amount of time. But the general idea goes. the bot cancels the score which is dynamically updated via the dynamic scoreboard in the current TWL games.
              I hope we can agree that the bots have come to a stage where this is possible to a very good degree.

              Three spaws and you are specced as a deterent like if you go outside the line in javs map. Its about time some kind of deterent was placed for spawning so people will avoid instead of keeping the current belief that "since every other team does it so will I to succeed".

              Remember one thing if you really want to improve the current spawning situation it can be done with a small sacrifice, however if you want to keep it at status quo its just never going to happen.

              I for one think that bot controlling the spawn rate like in TWEL modified will definetly work. You just have to discuss figure out all the problems and work around them. Only after a couple of prototypes will you be able to make a good compromise. But if you never start its never going to happen.

              EDIT: ya ya excuse my english. I typed it in a hurry and don't really have the time to fix it up. But it should be mostly understandable.

              Also i think you should atleast be able to reduce spawning if not completely eliminate it. Any change for the better is still appreciated.

                    lag limits

                    Cpt. Guano, i was wondering if u are aware of this router in europe called HopOne. It causes many of our european players to get lag, depending if the isp routes that way. the lag is not allways stable.. it's around 3% - 6% of C2S atleast.. and sometimes allso S2C of same amounts. *this is for making the lag limits*

                      2.02 All playoff squads that participated in the previous Trench Wars Leagues season will be granted automatic admission to play in this season. At a date to be later disclosed by the League Operators, the highest-ranking TWD squads in each division will fill the remaining TWL spots of that division. Squads that dissolved at any time during the previous season, or prior to the new season's start, will have to re-enter Trench Wars Leagues through the TWD system.


                      Can we have a clarification here please?

                      i have people in game telling me that Melee has to qualify for LD and LJ

                      I know in past seasons that you had to have a 50% returning to roster, but according to your rules listed above that is not a rule posted here

                      so if your going to change or adjust the rules again before the start of the season, could you notify us please, instead of magically changing the rules posted the day or two before the season is going to start?

                      at this time, Melee is preparing for leagues under the assumption and the stated, posted rules, that they have guaranteed spots in TWLD and TWLJ, if that is not the case, then someone needs to clarify this, and explain why the rule is being changed contrary to the initial listing of the rules

                      lets be real, by the time the leauges will have started, it will have been over 6 months since the last league again, and there has seemed to be a lot of volatility to the squads in TW's this past year

                      irregardless, as the rule sits right now, then "All playoff squads that participated in the previous Trench Wars Leagues season will be granted automatic admission to play in this season." and there is no other stipulations at all.... so if your going to shaft people for rebuilding, then at least give them some notice

                        Ahhh thanks for pointing that out boss...

                        I must have erased the 50% same roster part by accident. I have added that in to that section. It now reads as follows:

                        2.02 All playoff squads that participated in the previous Trench Wars Leagues season will be granted automatic admission to play in this season.
