TWEL 2v2 Tournament


TWEL Hosts: RaCka & Dwopple


Season 2 of TWEL 2v2 is here! This season we are shooting for 16 teams per division (Warbird, Javelin, and Spider will be available this season). This will be a first come first serve basis. The deadline to have your team signed up will be Saturday May 14th at 11:59 PM EST.


Qualifications:


There will be no required play for qualifications!


There will be, however, an entry fee in its stead! There will be $1,000,000 dollar pubbux fee per player, per league to enter into the tournament.


Please sign up as soon as possible!


Tournament Rules:

• The format will be a Best of 3 duels to 5 deaths in the duel2 arena, Finals will be a best of 5 to 5 deaths.
• All matches must be played back to back
• All matches will be played in the duel2 arena
• There will be no practice matches against anyone on the other team during the week
• You will have 1 week to complete your match. If you can not get a hold of the other team or schedule anything, please message me immediately. If matches are not complete, I will see who was on the most, or most available, and if there is no discernable winner, I will do a coin toss as we will not have any time extensions

(Brackets will be posted on Sunday May 15th.)


Week 1 ends: Sunday May 22nd 11:59 PM EST

Week 2 ends: Sunday May 29th 11:59 PM EST

Week 3 ends: Sunday June 5th 11:59 PM EST

Week 4 will be played at a scheduled time, on Sunday June 12th, and will be recorded.


Entrants:


You will need to sign up by messaging RaCka or Dwopple in game or by posting on this thread. You will not be entered into the tournament until funds have been received for your team in lieu of standard qualification games


Pubbux will be sent to RaCka or Dwopple in game and kept until there are winners


Rewards:


Each winning team will receive 20 million pubbux per division -- 2nd place teams will receive 12 million pubbux per division


Each winning team will receive Tournament Medals


Each winning team will be posted in the duel2 arena

• We are aiming for 16 teams in each division. If we have more than expected signup, we may open the tournament up a bit early, but will keep to the deadlines. If you are of the late sign ups, you could be made to play an extra game early, so sign up first to avoid this.
• YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME PARTNER ACROSS 3 LEAGUES. YOU ALSO DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY ALL 3 LEAGUES!

That's kind of the point of 2v2 duel league. This is very much an opt-in league. Sign up if you want to compete or have a million pubbux to lose. (I'll be sitting out as well.)

TSL will be more accommodating for people like us.

I was hoping for some type of situation where a TWEL was done first, and this was second. I thought Duel2 pairings should be based off earned ratings and game outcomes from TWEL. I wanted the top finishers to have earned certain rights to pair with certain players. But for example, to allow the #1 and #2 players to pair together is just bad for interest or game balance. I also am not a fan of Pay to Play leagues. Pub bux payouts are fine but to charge is a bit silly. Just make a coupon and pay out to winners at the end.

Imagine asking for something and then not signing up for it because you won't be carried by someone way better than you. Absolute bottom feeding trash, both you and JB Inc.

Anyone who has seen you play is well aware you have brain damage. The fact you think some parity needs to be created in every single league/tourny/event so your fat, smelly, stupid ass can get carried to a championship is really crazy.

TWEL has always been a low participation, opt-in league. With a million pubbux buy-in this season, participation was always going to be low. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, since the high cost of entry keeps out people who aren't serious about winning. TSL is (in theory) being set up as the league that everyone can participate in.


It is cute, though, that most of our keyboard warriors who bitch about how "elim means nothing" or "I don't get to play on stacked teams like you do" still haven't signed up. It's almost like they're full of shit and won't sign up because they know they'd get embarrassed and would have to stop complaining about how it's the world's fault they suck at the game.
