TW Cup finals
Cup is finally over and zone can go to summer vacation mode. I must say finals were not really up to hype, mainly due to pretty poor showrates, apart from avengers in 3rd round and crab champions, all other teams missed some key players.
WB
Avengers vs Happy Hippos (2-1)
Avengers definitely went to finals as favorites as Hippos already knew they were missing both rainbow seeker and tiny, key players in their team. But as lines were formed, it was also clear that morph was nowhere to be seen, so avengers started with rough, okyo, iron survivor, berzerk and lee. Hippos lined up with bike, dreamwin, refer, stayon and zapata. First game was pretty equal but hippos managed to kill me off after very poor game and looked to go for win with 5v4 and solid lead. But maybe being too overconfident, rest of avengers started picking them off one by one. Soon lead was made into tie and soon after that refer and stayon were KOd and end of game was pretty easy finish from avengers with okyo mvping. Second game was tied for a while, but extremely poor performances from jabra and myself (1-6 and 0-4) and crazy zapata going 17-6 tied up the matches with everything being decided in last game. That game was sealed once morph showed up. He gave perfect rainbow seeker performance being first one out but with 15-10 (at the time iron was something like 7-0
). Once again hippos were 5v4, but lead was alraedy so massive avengers didnt have any issues finishing the game in a landslide. Iron going 8-0 is an achivement worth mentioning as well.

bike> good! had a few rounds we had significant leads in that we blew at one point or other during the season and round 1 of finals, so thats unfortunate
Lee> did you think you would make it to finals after draft?
bike> i expected to win
bike> i drafted only players with no major attendance restrictions and veterans so i thought that would carry us through
bike> didnt expect players like okyo with unknown show rate and morph with 30% show rate to show up both 90% of the season lol
Lee> who do you think was mvp for season?
bike> for my team? or overall?

bike> hmm didnt watch much of otehr teams or games. okyo maybe had best K:d so hard to argue against that. morph was obviously the monkey wrench in round 3 here

bike> sure. yea for cup league next time i'd hope for wb and jav to be one draft. makes double league players more valuable

Monster vs Pub Crackheads (2-1)
Monster came to finals as definite favorite with undefeated season. Pub Crackheads had really good semis, but biggest hero yeh was missing from finals. Monster lined up with okyo, rampage, morph, byakko and spirit with kangal replacing spirit in later phase. Crackheads played with rough, stayon, rekashi, hellzno! and paradise, but he was having lag issues and was replaced with siaxis. First game in finals produced quite a bit of a surprise as monster did lose their first game of season. Stayon/rough duo were playing at high quality and spirit/kangal and also rampage were not really having their best games. Second game was also pretty tight fight, but having kangal in from beginning proved to vital as monster kept everyone on crackheads at bay and secured the tie. Last game was more or less equal but with paradise lagging out it was sort of game over as siaxis had only 1 life as a sub and was eliminated fast. Morph had massive game with 20-9 and Monster were declared champions after dominating league from beginning.
Here is what rampage had to say as stayon had to leave right after game:

Rampage> 10/10, i did a great job drafting, wasnt able to perform much in finals but when you draft a team as good as i did, there will always be a player or two that stand out and bring it home

Rampage> ya, i knew if my people showed, we would be a huge threat, it all came down to showrates, they didnt let me down
Lee> which team did you consider your biggest threat?
Rampage> pure luck forsure, they had a seasoned team of great javs , not sure how they werent able to see it through
Lee> if you would have to name season mvp, who would that be?
Rampage> hmm, tough. i think morph deserves it

Rampage> im not sure, i had time to cap this time around, idk how the future looks in terms of capping again. but so far 1/1 with a undefeated season. im not sure if its been done before but this is definitely going down in history

Crab Champions vs Ethereal (2-0)
Unfortunately the cup finished with really poor base finals. Crab Champions had all their people showing up while Ethereal had to get really creative with people like rabbit and telemanus getting surprise gametime in finals. So not really much to say CC never gave Ethereal any chance and won in 2 easy games. Shame for league to end like this, but sometimes it happens.

Zizu> Really satisfied with the team. We had a rough start the first few weeks but people kept showing up with a good attitude and also we got lucky with the FA draft getting zidane.
Lee> did you expect to win this after draft?
Zizu> Had no doubt we could fight for the win if our best line showed up.
Lee> who would you consider mvp for base this season?
Zizu> I'd have to say zidane. His impact was huge to our lineup. Cripple and TJ hazuki both get honorable mentions tho. They played great week in week out.
Lee> which team did you consider biggest threat at the beginning of season?
Zizu> I didn't really think about that in the beginning of the season. However the real final was the semi-final against terrorist. They could've easily beat us with the momentum they had in game 2. Luckily we snatched the win in the end.
