TWDT-B 2019 Week 2 Hot or Not
It's time to bore all of you wbs and javs to death. It's time for a basing HoN.
Gladiator

Week two Gladiator beat Silence (15:00 - 4:24) and Power (13:28 - 15:00), switching out three spiders for the second game to give everyone playtime. After week one Gladiator is coming into form and we can see more clearly now why nowon picked Trasher. With turban we maybe wouldn't be seeing this. Trasher and mcvicar, while not a pair in ships per se such as a shark pair, are the most intimidating flagroom duo in the tournament. Thunder has some voracious high-stars but not with quite the same intensity in my opinion. The big test is coming next week in any case, when Gladiators face the Thunder in basing game number one.
HOT: SpookedOne (32-0) and (38-5). Great 6-star terrier value.
HOT: morph (5-80, 2.8 RPD) and (20-113, 2.9 RPD). Solid in multiple leagues.
HOT: Trasher (71-30) and (115-48). A nice performance this week, fitting a 1st round pick.
Silence

I've omitted a few performances from the above in order to try to make it clearer. Silence lost to Gladiator (15:00 - 4:24) and Thunder (8:32 - 15:00). Basically Silence started out with thix in terrier, and very quickly surmised that they need more spider power, switching him with Waz. Then there were a comforting four 10-stars in assault ships, two sharks Commodo and hellkite, and two spiders turban and thix, at the 2:28 mark of the very first game. This was not enough though, as the sharks couldn't protect the three 7-star spiders, whose formation was poked full of holes by the likes of Trasher and mcvicar of Gladiator.
Silence started the second game by going backwards and again using only one of their 10-stars as spider, hellkite. Turban joined him later on but to no avail. I recommend utilizing your low-stars Waz (6) and olde (7) better and upping the spider power, even going for that 10+10+10 spider formation. It's one we haven't seen yet, and could do some heavy work. 10-star sharks don't necessarily achieve much if there's little behind them. Silence has the materials to pull off a spider upgrade, both in suitable low-stars and the high-end spiders themselves.
NOT: Commodo (10-78, 2.9 RPD) and (15-95, 2.8 RPD). You stacked your team with basers, now utilize them.
NOT: fire phoenix (72-73). I sure hope you live up to your name and rise from the ashes, because there's a whole lot of ashes be risen from after this week's performance.
NOT: Steep. In a week where every 7-star seemed to get play, Steep called it an early night and went to bed, when a talent such as him could have made a difference. Maybe we should call him Sleep. Amirite??
Terrorist

Terrorist lost to Thunder (15:00 - 3:12) and Legio XI (9:24 - 15:00). Markmrw sharked the first game and Burnt terriered the whole of the second game. Why did Terrorist lose this week? Well they missed Bacon and were unable to serve their opponents the Burnt + Bacon combo. That's one big reason. Epic burns were also thrown in the grudge match between dreamwin and Mikkiz of Legio XI. I don't have any screenshots sorry but it got very personal and ugly, probably affected everyone present. One positive thing of the week was in the Legio game, when dreamwin shipswitched nicely from spider to warbird and back to cut respawn time.
NOT: dreamwin. 23-24 in spider at 9:39 of game one, dreamwin had to switch to terrier just to avoid future embarrasment.
Legio XI

It was not the invasion of the little green men from space, but the invasion of the little tiny 8-star spiders that was fatal for both Power (15:00 - 1:13) and Terrorist (15:00 - 9:24). The biggest the Legio's offense grew was dinosaur-sized 9-star Jurassic at the second game, otherwise the destruction was set on medium (but steady).
Power's lineup was especially vulnerable to Legio, and when they dug their position in, the cram was impassable for 10+ minutes. Legio held the flagroom like the 300 spartans, with Steadman working the forked firing holes, shooting down the enemy from above. And in fact Power's did not reach 300 overall kills, only 249 for the game.
HOT: Steadman (59-26) and (82-50). The archer without mercy.
HOT: Henry Saari (62-24) and (115-46). At the roman encampment Henry has plenty of time to do what he wants, camp, and fry up some delicious killscores while he's at it.
Thunder

Thunder came in with a repeat performance from week one, winning all base games, while leaving their other leagues behind this time. They toppled Terrorist (15:00 - 3:12) and Silence (8:32 - 15:00). Thunder has a very similar line composition as Silence. I suppose the difference between them, and between winning and losing is just the quality of 7-stars Thunder has, who are veteran dedicated basers. Thunder's base team looks solid all-around too. Too bad about the other leagues.
HOT: rozay (65-34) and (90-40). The best 7-star quite possibly.
HOT: JAMAL (21-66, 3.1 RPD) and (9-90, 3.1 RPD). Averaging 3.1 RPD this week, noice.
Power
