Yes, pregnant people get them.

They're also known in grammar as the combination of two words using an apostrophe. Eg. aren't, you're, don't, I'll, etc. Hence why I said, if you're going to call the use of w/ lazy and annoying, then you may as well say the same thing about people using contractions.
