Considering you have about 8 posts per day on this forum, the "you use the computer too much" angle is a little hypocritical.

I officially retire from replying to any of your posts because I have reason to believe you are working for TelCat.

You go to uni too? So does Telcat. You're in Sydney right? So is Telcat. You pretend to be an idiot just to invoke a reaction, although you're probably smarter than you get credit for? Same with Telcat.
I see a pattern emerging. Wouldn't it be fun if we all went to the same uni?

It's A Joke! If I have to tell you what makes it a joke then I don't see how you will 'get it'...

Sigh this should make it clear... did you read the whole thing?

BSD, Lunix, Debian and Mandrake are all versions of an illegal hacker operation system.

Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers.

Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash".

"As a child enters the electronic world of hacking, he may become disaffected with the real world. He may lose the ability to control his actions, or judge the rightness or wrongness of a course of behaviour. This will manifest itself soonest in the way he treats others. Those whom he disagrees with will be met with scorn, bitterness, and even foul language. He may utter threats of violence of a real or electronic nature.

Even when confronted, your son will probably find it difficult to talk about this problem to you. He will probably claim that there is no problem, and that you are imagining things. He may tell you that it is you who has the problem, and you should "back off" and "stop smothering him." Do not allow yourself to be deceived. You are the only chance your son has, even if he doesn't understand the situation he is in. Keep trying to get through to him, no matter how much he retreats into himself."

You don't have to know anything about computers to tell that this is not a sympton specefic to "hacking". The joke is that dumbasses are out of touch with their kids and view hacking much the same way they view video games. Hacking for computer illiterate people is seen much the same way that Cricket is for me; completely mistifying and devoid of value.

the enforcer is a dingleberry, but he's right. I spend a lot of time on computers at work and at home, but jokes about internet stuff just aren't funny.

Nobody is saying the joke is funny, everybody is saying that it is clear to just about anyone that can make toast that it is in fact a joke.

Err yes thats not far fetched i know alot of people like that and guess what they spend a ton of time on the computer so it wouldnt surprise me if someone acts that way. It might seem a little extreme (not properly reflect reality) but i took into consideration of the writer therefore i thought he would be a little bias and over exagerate!
If you take into consideration that you think its an overly concerned parent and not a teenager writing the post then it comes pretty obvious that its definelty possible that the themes raised could reflect a parent's view of reality!
