    The answer: Because this kind of music is not too safe to place money at.
    basically i agree with the "safety" part of it. being a guitarist is much more risky than a dj, because most guitarists will require a band (since nobody listens to folk music anymore). but i imagine the music business in general is a pretty risky career path.

    but that's not really a fair comparison i think, cuz a dj can entertain a crowd of hundreds of paying club-goers. a solo guitarist needs a band, and if he entertains for the same fee, he has to divide the money between him and his band.

    jeansi said it best. it's about supply and demand. it's a simple case of business strategy, as opposed to life being unfair.

      I'm hulk hogan, and i'm losing all my hair.

      This summer, if I can, I want to go see Dispatch play the hatch at boston. They're aren't ska, but they sort of had a mini ska phase when they were one fell swoop. (see --> bats in the belfry).
