i didn't watch the vid, but just caught some screenshots of it, from when they have him leaned forward, then the decapitation, then the removal, then them holding his head to the camera.

pretty provocative shit. and of course, that's the intention. i can't imagine the mental state he would have been going through knowing he was about get his head cut off, or if he even knew. but what he DID know was what risks were involved in being in iraq, so i can't feel too badly for him. after all, he died living his life the way he wanted to, helping people, and fighting for a cause he believed in. i think there's honor in that.

i feel badly for his family though. not only do they have to deal with the loss of a loved one dying a brutal death, it's a fucking shame they have to imagine millions of people downloading his death. and you know they have to be aware that some of those people watching it are just stoked to watch an american get punished with all the bullshit going on, and the prison scandal. if that was my brother or dad or something i dunno how i could possibly deal with that idea.
