Im sure if your family died right now noone would laugh, unless your a relative of Bilbo who finds comedy in death. And if your sick of these thread you dont have to read them.
Best regards.

As I said in another post, they probably don't know.
97% of Americans think they're the only country in the world that matters.
90% of statistics are made up on the spot, but 95% of them have a point.gravy_: They should do great gran tourismo

I know one tends to get emotional, but this is over the top. You're not 'better' than Bilbo or Dillusion.
Also, read what SEAL said. I can't remember _any_ 'disaster' that's been so worldwidely memorized like this one.Last edited by Mythrandir; 09-12-2002, 11:04 AM.

Also, I want to add that I was shocked too, last year. It was a terrible sight to see 2 buildings of that size collapse.
But the true reason that this is an event so widely remembered, is the knowledge that it is likely that more terroristic attacks are to come. Heavier ones, which can kill perhaps even hundreds of thousands people...

Myth, Seal, and Guru all raise excellent points! I remember when I was in high school sociology, and my teacher taught us about Ethnocentrism, and how the USA leads the world in it. It's no wonder that 95% of Americans don't know or don't care, seeing as how 100% of that 95% I am sure gather their news from television outlets. If any of you have ever seen an American news program, they generally only dedicate 1 to 2 minutes to reporting on World events. And that my friends, is pathetic.
Yes I know that Putin is trying to make a case for action against Chechnya.
Yes I know that France was again hit with terrible storms on Sunday and Monday, killing I think 20+ people.
Yes I know of the kidnapped Russian oil executive.
Yes I know how boring the Italians thought their Miss Italy contest was.
Yes I know about the IRA decision to not allow moderators from Britain to monitor breaches in the latest cease fire agreement.
It's a big world out there kiddies, everything that is important doesn't only happen in your back yard.
(In case you folks were wondering, the Associated Press and Reuters make a great place to start for global news.)Ünited Stätes Toughens Image With Umlauts WASHINGTON, DC—In a move designed to make the United States seem more "bad-assed and scary in a quasi-heavy-metal manner," Congress passed a bill Monday changing the nation's name to the Ünited Stätes of Ämerica. "Much like Mötley Crüe and Motörhead, the Ünited Stätes is not to be messed with," said Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK). An upcoming redesign of the Ämerican flag will feature the new name in burnished silver wrought in a jagged, gothic font and bolted to a black background. A new national anthem is also in the works, to be written by composer Glenn Danzig and tentatively titled "Howl Of The She-Demon."

You're right, for most parts. The fact is that, and excuse me for saying this, the lower society class gets it's education from tv. America has alot of people=>money; so their can invest alot of money in tv programs wich get way more professional that european tv programs, therefore also seen over here. Everybody know's who G.Bush is. (although more people watch the finals of the football -soccer- champions leage than people know who bush is -- fact). The point is: it's not particually usa's fault for not knowing or caring whats going on outside the country. That's the same in azia, europe, wherever. On a tv program alot of dutch people couldn't even point out holland on the world map! (for the dutch: vakantie man). Maybe see it has 'the highest tree's catch the most wind'. And like always, the educated people will care/ know.
Nontheless: usa sucks
note: do the spellcheck yourself.

I remembered I was sick that day and stayed home from school and I think I was one of the first people to see it and tell people to check out the news in SS. I was playing SS and was flipping through channels on TV and saw that almost every news channel had it on, so I informed people in SS about it.TWLD Champion 'Season 11'

Your are all still missing the big picture here, not only were american lives lost, but the EARTHS people were lost. WE ARE ALL GODS CHILDREN WE ALL BLEED, WE ALL CRY, WE ALL DIE.
Stop being blinded by politics and what you see on the news, if you would all just stop and think about what exactly happend you might see it in a new light. Not everything America does is the right thing, we all have made mistakes. Evil people did Evil things on that day, and people who did not deserve to die did. If this happend anywhere else in the world would you guys lash out at them and say the had it coming? You all have twisted this whole post around again. Thanks Pusher for sharing you're thoughts.2 time TWLD runner up.
If not a medal, cant I get a Ribbon??
