Actually, I just wanted to point out how both Chretien's comments about proof being proof and earlier comments in this thread about facts being facts sound incredibly silly.

Personal Opinion on Michael Moore and this movie,
No one is going to listen to something and believe everything they hear and if they do then they're a fool. But I like the idea that he educates people on some facts and people recognizes their actual leader, now some people may think this is wrong or in-moral but aslong as people don't want him back in office they can think whatever they want of George Bush being true or false and I think Michael Moore recognizes this and uses it to his advantage. I guess you can say I like propaganda aslong as it supportss my cause, I look back on these years was it just a waste of time? It makes me laugh.Last edited by Cops; 07-07-2004, 05:10 PM.it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

Let's not kid ourselves, everything will be slanted. The news shows, the newspapers, the news magazines, your parents, and Michael Moore. At least there is fact in his film as in all the other news sources. A particular incident sticks out in my mind: you guys remember when Howard Dean looked like he was heading up the race for democratic primaries? Then he made a speech somewhere in which he got really into it and started to shout and wave his hands. Fox News, CNN, and NBC all depicted him as a crazy man by distorting the volume level of the crowd and everything who was helping Dean get riled up. Dean wasn't truly going crazy at all but the media twists made it seem so. That ended his chances at the primaries pretty much. I'm not saying that's the only reason but I remember that took a pretty big toll on his ratings.

Yeah, that speech crushed him, and it was only the initial reaction. When people started talking about it later, they made more sense of it, but it seems like 90% of the people don't hear that stuff. They just see it the next day in the headlines and figure the dude's gone mad, and that's all it takes. Even if they spend the next month talking about the crowd levels and how he was just being passionate, it doesn't matter, it's that initial headline that matters.http://www.trenchwars.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15100 - Gallileo's racist thread

I enjoyed the movie, however, there were some key things Moore left out (that weakened his points):
1) The other side to the story.
2) Saudi ties are more political than economical
The film is heavily based on sentiment to win over its viewers, so if you're gullible, then you'll agree with most of it. But moore was right on one thing - bush IS an idiot. I mean, you dont have to really consider all things political to figure that one out.
Theres a saying.

Yes it was attempting to damn Bush in a way but if half the things they said are true, and the buddy group of Bush (Cheney and another couple of guys) didn't deny the claims. According to them Bush works a bit like Reagan did. Delivers the best speechs he can following what his select group of advisors suggest.gravy_: They should do great gran tourismo
