you (same applies to me now) weren't really contributing to the topic and start a dialog. This is the way all topic ends and eventually the topic get closed or start into flames/ trash talk.

point is (yes whats my point?) that you're stuck on the island and wouldnt use the tunnel to goto france on friday night and go back on sundag afternoon, unlike belgium, germany, holland, france, etc. hence, we feel more connected with this euro thing and also include the uk with it.

This is quite OT, but can any brit tell me why you have a seperate warm-water and cold-water tap? In the 4 years i've been in England noone has been able to give me a satisfactory answer.

edit: ok maybe i didnt clarify this enough, i'm not particularly familiar with plumbing terminology, so i'll try to describe what i mean. In the UK you have a hot water tap from which only boiling hot water comes out of, and a cold water tap for only freezing cold water. If you desire a water temperature between these two extremes you have to fill up the sink with the two extremes and create your own mix. In most of the rest of the developed world there is 1 tap with two knobs for hot and cold temperatures (or some other system) where u can adjust the water to already come out of the tap at the desired temperature.

When we say beans on toast, we mean baked beans, not green beans and it is a common thing to eat when you want something nice/filling but don't have much time (A favourite with students)

I'm patriotic to Wales but most of the time I call myself British because some people don't know that Wales exists. I think we're closer to America more so than Europe but only because of the pop culture that has been brought over. If you turn on the TV over here it's likely that you're going to see something or hear something that's been imported over from America before something from Europe and because of that we've sort of grown some American values. As for Britain being in Europe, it's fine and well being in the European Union but we're so divided between them and America that there's really no use to us being in it anymore unless we commit to one or the other. Britain wouldn't be able to survive by itself but we've grown relationships with Europe for so long now that I think it'd be a waste to leave the EU and join with America. As for the Euro currency, I have said and always will say no to that.

both of the 2 first things suck major ass. You need two hands to put the damn thing on and you get a different temperature every time!

and having 2 different pipes is even mroe retarded.

I was reading the newspaper while I was over in London two days ago (by the way Zeus, I couldn't find ANY good pubs in the Euston area, but our hotel was right next to Euston station, so it was ideal), and it was saying that if the UK goes into the Euros, they'll contribute over HALF of the Euro cash resevoir. There is so much to read over in Europe about the big contraversy between the French trying to get the Brits into Europe, and the Brits not wanting to. It's very interesting stuff that American news doesn't even touch apon.

This i dont belive for one second. The germany economy is 3rd, the british 4th and the french at 5th place (numbers from 2002,http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Mea...ational_income)
so it makes no sense whatsoever that britain has to contribute with over half for the entire EU.

Newer houses tend to have the mixed tap that cred mentioned, but most have the seperate taps, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, I'm used to it.
