Who are you to judge who is a hooligan and who is not? What does your team and its fans do anyway (if you have one), throw flowers on the field, sit with their legs crossed and clap like little girls? Another thing, I know its called football I just don't think it really matters. Don't mean to come at you like that but your post was argument provoking that had nothing to do with the topic. I asked for people to post pics of their fans and their favorite soccer/FOOTBALL teams, you obviously got other intentions.

Ipswich have always been just below the big teams. In the 60's we had a manager called Sir Alf Ramsey who got us promoted to the top division, then called Division One. The FA took a fancy to him and asked him to be England manager for the 1966 World Cup. A decade or so of obscurity followed until a manager came along called Sir Bobby Robson. He brought us the Division One title, the FA Cup (1978) and the UEFA Cup (1982) with players such as Mick Mills, Paul Mariner, Arnie Muhren and Frans Thijssen:



Once again the FA recruited our manager and Sir Bobby took England to the semi-finals of Italia '90 and Ipswich faded back into the second league, which with the invention of the Premiership in 1992, became known as Division One. Ipswich focused on our academy rather than spending large amounts of money on players (namely as we didn't have any), and spent four years in the play-offs which is a competition for the teams who finish in the places 3-6 to see who gets promoted alongside the top two teams. Eventually in 1999 we won it and Ipswich were back in the big time:



That player is Matty Holland, one of our best ever players. Our captain, we bought him from 2nd Division Bournemouth for £800k and he played every single match for about 5 years, statistically putting in the most tackles and not recieving a single yellow card. In our first season back in the Premiership somehow we managed to finish 5th, something unheard of as the gulf in class between the Premiership and Division One was growing so large that most promoted teams just went straight back down. We qualified for the UEFA cup again by virtue of finishing 5th, but it proved a distraction from the league and in the year we played in Europe we also got relegated.



Thats George Burley, the manager who tooks us to the top and brought us back down with some dodgy signings. By some fluke we qualified for the UEFA Cup again in the year we got relegated. The top placed team in the English fair play league gets to go in a draw with 12 other European teams for the last two places, we came 3rd in the fair play league but the two above us had already qualified for European compeitions so we went into the hat... and were pulled back out.

Recently due to the signings we made in the Premiership and the fact we were relegated soon after, Ipswich went into administration (had no money). This is because people are only interested in the Premiership, and so the TV companies who pay up to £600m for TV rights are only interested in the Premiership. A Premiership club stands to make £20m a year from TV rights, whereas a Division One club can expect about £500k. Therefore we banked that by finishing 5th out of 22, we at least would be in the Premiership for a couple of seasons so signed players on fat wages. We got relelgated, sold all our players and have had to rely on 16 year old kids, signing players out of contract (who command no transfer fee) and loan deals (where you borrow players from other clubs for a year so they get first-team football experience and hopefully become a better player for their mother club next season, as they normally wouldn't get a look in at their mother club), and I can see this lasting another few years, although we are finishing in the play offs before we have properly rebuild our team, which is promising.
