Doom 3

I'll probably have to upgrade my system to get Doom 3 running nice and smooth. I've only got a P4 2.4B with 1GB of PC1066 RDRAM and a GeForce4 Ti4600. I need to change over to a new mobo and proc (don't know whether I want to go AMD or Intel), get some PC3200 DDR (at least a gig), and finally, get the latest and greatest ATI card. Then I'll be ready to rock. And I'll also be ready to rock when (and if...) Half-Life 2 hits the shelves.

What kind of systems are you guys running Doom 3 on, and what's the performance like in-game? (If you wouldn't mind, include what kind of graphical settings you're using in-game.)

I'm thinking I may try to dl it and see if it will run on my machine before going out to buy it. I don't want to have to return it if I can't run it. I've got the same as you but with only 512 ram, ugh.

yeah man, I turned 17 got out of school and I have no plans to go back, I plan on making every mistake twice but fuck me I'll have more fun then most people will have plus I already know the meaning of life. There's no need to beat down the poor and the working class core, I live at home my girlfriend, my friends, my family help me everyone I know helps me and I don't have a rent to pay so it's not that big of a deal, I made $500 on friday through monday and my next pay check should be around a grand so it's not like I'm "poor", hell I plan on getting into a trade after I work enough shitty jobs and weasel my way through life, there's no need to get upity at me I assure you I live comfortably and I sleep peacefully and in the end that's all that matters.

I like your signature I had the exact same opinion that you did once but I realized sucess buys you things nothing else, money might get me a better looking car which in turn might get me a a beautiful girlfriend but then again at the end of the day you have to question why you have that girlfriend and what's her reasons for being with you. Personally I'd like to know that I could get a girlfriend based on my personalty and looks, not saying I'll ever be the greatest looking guy but if you're over weight then lose weight and if you want to be more healthy and more socially active then be more socially active, money and the idea of sucess is just a way out for the mass amount of people who aren't happy with themselves and are too lazy to change themselves.

There's a difference between getting uppity and not wanting to stress over living from paycheck to paycheck. If that works for you, good job but I like having a good stash of cash in my bank account in case of emergencies or a rainy day. Do whatever floats your boat guy, it won't bother me either way.

Oh, there's no stress for me living pay check to pay check, I pay my bills I budget my money and I make sure I'm okay, living from pay check to pay check doesn't mean I don't have money in place incase of a emergency. Plus I live in Canada the government litterally takes care of everything for me, I don't have to pay for my medication or visits to the doctor.

Not to drag this thread on longer then it needs to be, but if it didn't bother you then you wouldn't have commented on what I said to Bioture.

Back on topic- Anyone play the Super Turkey Punch-Out game in Doom 3 yet? One of my friends that has Doom 3 said there is an arcade machine somewhere, and if you play it before the demons come out you can play " Super Turkey Punch-Out " or something similar. It has Doom 2 graphics, and basically shows you beating the shit out of turkeys.
