I have astigmatism as well, you need toric contacts.

I personally have both contacts and glasses, and wear whatever suits me at the time. Having glasses for when my eyes are tired helps reduce fatigue, possible corneal ulcers, and growth of blood vessels into the cornea... ocular problems can lead to blindness.

My Dad wore contacts for a helluva long time, then over the course of about 6 months his eyes started freaking out and going all puffy and red so it goes to show its not a certain type of eyes that have an adverse reaction to contacts, as I'm pretty sure my Dad didn't switch eyes (a la Minority Report)

I have contacts and I like them. I got them like a month ago lol. I don't even have glasses because I didn't want to mess them and I'd end up breaking them at soccer practice. Yea I can't do eye drops, they freak me out. But I can do contacts. It's weird.

I'm surprised my eyes are still OK after all the abuse, but I'd go for contacts.

contacts own bigtime. Just don't use em every day.

                Good sides:
                - you can wear sunglasses and shit (having sunglasses with optical fix is just so unpractical cus you have to change glasses each time you go in/out or something).
                - Contact sports (glasses break too easily)
                - sports in general too, your eyes can fixate better on a quickly moving object with contacts than with glasses (glasses makes the image false)

                bad sides:
                - prise
                - Damn hard to get out if you are drunk enough. And if you forget them on like I do every now and then you can't see shit for the next day because your eyes are so dry.

I switched to contacts about 4-5 months ago, and it is much better then glasses. It doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything when you have the contacts in. Once you get the hang of putting in the contacts, then they are by far the best choice in my opinion.

I got reduces sight on one eye, but cuz of some problem glasses or contacts can't fix it at all..

I don't mind glasses, in some cases they look sexy

Hey Fit, nowadays laser eye surgery is getting more and more safe as more and more ppl get it done. The key I heard is that you need to meet up with the optiwhatever doctor to see if you are a good candidate. I heard that some ppl can't really have it done. The reason why you heard bout all those messups is bc there are some doctors that do it for cheap price and they just line everyone up and do it and get paid a lot for something that can be done fairly quickly. So you def need to go see a trusted/reliable doctor to get that type of surgery done. Last time I heard (like last yr) it was like $3000 per eye (or for both ... I forgot).

I have 2 week disposible contacts right now ... but my eyes get pretty red and really dry. I've tried some special antidryness solution but it wasn't that great. But the thing is that I wear my contacts like 12+ hrs a day ... almost every day ... so maybe I just wear it too long ... but still, when I save up enough money I want to get the laser eye surgery done.

Oh yeah ... I have slight astigmatism in 1 eye and my contacts work ok. I believe if your astigmatism is too much ... contacts don't really work well.

I have reverse bifocals (used for reading things far away). Anyone know if I can get contacts for this? Or am I just stuck with the glasses for a while?
I forgot to comment bout the 2nd part. I dunno for sure bout the reverse bifocals. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is the technology to have reverse bifocal contacts ... def ask ur optiwhatever guy.

the only time I've found glasses to be good was when trying to buy alcohol when underaged.
