  • Leadership qualities?

    What qualities do you think a leader should have? How should they act, talk and walk?
    My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

    There are 5 levels of leadership.

    Level 1- Forming

    Acts as "The Boss." The leader expects little experiance but a large committment from his subordinates and commands them as if they knew next to nothing.

    Level 2- Storming

    Acts as "The Coach." The leader expects some experiance but a little less commitment to the motives of his team, and instead helps his workers focus on the goal at hand while letting each take care of their own tasks.

    Level 3- Norming

    Acts as "The Guide." The leader's job in this instance is to be a guide for the group and unite the team, as each individual member has sufficient experiance and training to complete their tasks without a condescending eye over their shoulder.

    Level 4- Performing

    Acts as "The Manager." The leader expects only to clarify instructions, resolve issues, and delegate all other responsability.

    Level 5- Servant Leadership

    Acts as "The Servant." This type of leader exhibits personal humility and a professional will in the work environment. His ambitions are to make the team look good, not himself as the manager of the team. Puts the "we" over "me." This is the best way for a leader to leave a legacy after his absence.

      should let people they lead know who's in charge so people actually listen and still manage to be like-able to the people they lead. plus they should be able to lead them to their "goal" ... whatever that may be

        Depends what kind of leader and what kind of situation. But then again, a good leader should be able to adjust.

        Leaders should be someone that people can instantly trust, and recognize as someone that they should listen to. The leader should have the ability to make a group function better than it would otherwise if he/she were not there.

        I think that's a pretty general definition, but you get the point.

                      Depends on what you want those you're leading to do. If you want them to, say, follow you into a war where they risk their lives for no benefit to themselves, or feel too afraid to speak out against you, it's pretty easy. Just tell the people they're under attack, and constantly remind them that their enemies are planning to strike at any time (choose arbitrary buildings such as the National Treasury to make it look like you're not just completely making shit up). Then, label everyone who speaks against you unpatriotic, and claim that they are aiding and abetting the enemy.

                      Make sure you use labels, as they are the key to the simple mind. Make it clear that there are only two types of people, good guys and bad guys (aryans and jews, conservatives and liberals, whatever), and drive the point home that anyone who doesn't blindly support everything you do is one of the bad guys. The more people buy into your labels (terrorist), the easier it will be to control them. Oh, and make sure the people have a common stereotype that they can hate and fear (arabs), because without hate and fear, independent thought triumphs, which would cause your downfall.

                        As this progresses, you'll have more and more freedom to act in a manner that would get other leaders thrown out of office. Don't worry about looking hypocritical, untrustworthy, or even corrupt, because anyone who calls you on it will look like a raving left-wing fanatic and will be instantly labeled by the simple-minded as an idiot, a conspiracy theoriest, or maybe even a terrorist. Even those who might otherwise agree with him will negate it as pointless raving, as they will have grown apathetic to politics.

                        Always remember: A lie told often enough becomes the truth. It doesn't matter what the true facts are: just convince the people that anyone presenting condemning facts against you is putting a liberal slant on them. Even if they're just numbers, impossible to slant one way or the other, it doesn't matter. The people will believe you, because if they don't, they're unpatriotic. They're the bad guys. They're terrorists.
