Where Do they find names for these damn hurricanes? Hurricane Charley? Where did they get Charley from lol. Atleast they coulda thought of sumthin better than Charley.....mayb like willy or something.

I thought they had a rotation they did, and they did use the same names over and over like every 6 years or so. But if there's a huge storm that is really huge (like Andrew) they retire it. And hey, my name is on the list this year, just spelled not the way I spell it (they spell it Shary, I spell it Sherrie )

Yea just looked up the names from 96 to 2001 (http://www.fema.gov/kids/hunames2.htm) and they're the same names that are 2001-2006. So Kim and I were right.

So who decides what names are used each year? The World Meteorological Organization uses six lists in rotation. The same lists are reused every six years. The only time a new name is added is if a hurricane is very deadly or costly. Then the name is retired and a new name is chosen.

What happens to a Hurricane anyway, do they keep getting stronger or do they eventually die out *scratches head* Thinking about it i assume they die out otherwise there'd be a storm everyother day
