I've been reading about this on abovetopsecret, from what I've read (and most of it is being blown way out of proportion by the media...) the signal is comming from an area of space where no planetoid or star exists for 1,000 light years. There's also a chance that the signal is being created by some other kind of natural phenomenon in our universe which we don't know about.
Not a lot of official news comming from Seti@home though, which would be nice.
