GMail - Is it really that good?

I got Gmail today and I was playing around with it, Clicked and Searched, Came across a site about Gmail.
Is Gmail really that good?

It might be wrong but they did have extensive explanations, as well as screenshots.

Dont use gmail if you plan to use it for anything illegal.

Privacy is worth fighting for, but some things, like email, are too trivial to care whether or not someone else might read it.

thants bullshit, why should google read you emails and any other email provider or your local mail man shouldnt? all this came up because google does a search query with words you have in your mails. SO WHAT?! i bet that query is the same for 90% of the people anyway or do you get secret army plans mailed every day? propaganda, gmail is cool and if that query would work how it should it would be a great feature.

also i have typed warez so many times in the google search engine, why should i not have it in my mails? its like 100% the same. they dont know my name and if the great and mighty FBI wants to find me they will do so either way.

third but not last privacy is so overrated these days. i cant hear it anymore. if you are so fucking ashamed of things you do or did why not stop it or change yourself? if you like to fuck some guys ass or, god prevent, have cancer than why do you have to keep that as a secret. im a exhibitionist, hell why should i make a secret out of me? people should see what i do and what i am.

No doubt they have good arguments.
When you goto your "Warez" search, I dont think you get popups from that, but did you see the part on that site where it said that a Lawyer is testing it to see what flaws and if it does produce ad's?
He has Gmail and he sent himself an email with the name of his business of law on the footer, and he got popups from a completely different business... So it might only be if you have Gmail. And you must provide some info to them to show get popup results. My footer says Gmail is cool, so when I send myself an Email I should get something pertaining to Gmail.
Also, Military personnel wont use this Gmail cause they have private accounts set up so nobody can see it, I would know, Since my dad is in the Air Force.
They could use it for personal properties, but it just seems "Creepy" as they put it.

Yahoo and Hotmail are showing up to compete with Google's Gmail, I read it on that site. I dont see how they will do it, and they have to keep it free too!
I dont see any hope for Hotmail.

It really is an invasion of privacy, but they kind of have the permission to do it. I clicked "yes" to it in the Agreement section, but I dont have anything to hide, but something I dont want the world to know, could be in there. The government has access to the database I saw, I guess to keep terrorists out of the country. I dont think any terrorist or drugdealer or whatever they're after would use a popular Email such as Gmail. I was thinking, they have access to passwords that I get when I click the "I forgot my Password" button or when I signup for something. Another thing I was thinking was relay my important information to my Yahoo account and just put my crap in Gmail.
It also states that you never have to delete, but you archive... But even if you do delete it will still be on their database, so its a waste of time.

There are SOME positive sides to this Gmail, but I didnt read them.
Google only wanted you to see the Positive side, so they dont lose support.

If you want more information... Seems stupid but goto google and search on Gmail. Also check the images section of that, to see previews of it.

i think google, gmail and orkut are part of a conspiracy theory i made alone by myself with noone's help that usa government wants to track all information and ppl over the world so they are putting money in it.

Imagine how cool, first you search everything you want at google, all your interests are recorded. Then you get a orkut account and fill your profile. After that you get a gmail account and all mail you receive is tracked.

Perfect they get a profile with known interests and mail.

like every other email provider has. i can not see a problem in that. either you thrust google or you dont. but id rather thrust google than yahoo, hotmail, gmx or the email storage from the business you work for with its nerdy admins who wants to know all you dirty lil secrets.

no doubt there might be saver or better email providers BUT if i give someone my adress he cant remember Mike@myrealbox.com for 5 seconds. Mike@gmail.com on the other hand...

I don't really like it because it doesn't have folders to organize your stuff. I can't stand having more than 5 emails in my inbox and I currently have like 200 and I'm going insane. So yea, that's the only thing I really don't like about it. I like how it loads fast though, because I have really slow internet. I wish I could go back to my yahoo name but I don't feel like having to go trough that huge ordeal of changing your email again.

If I send an email to multiple recipients from gmail it gets there about a week later, I know one email had still hasn't got there and its to a hotmail account (yes I typed the right address etc etc)
