Tobacco is on it's way out in the US. Local gov'ts have been implementing bans in public places (restaurants, etc.) and I believe that will make smoking less popular (if it was in the first place).

Alcohol won't ever be banned imo.

Illegal drugs (crack, pot, etc) have a very difficult process to go through to be legalized, but the quickest way is to demonstrate that the drug can be used for medical purposes.

Prescription drugs are where it's at kiddies. That shit is all balls and no extra ingredients unlike most illegal drugs. You put Oxycontin versus Pot, and oxycontin will fuck you up harder, longer and faster. But of course the difference between oxycontin and pot is that oxycontin is legal, with a prescription of course.

That's my two cents from a pharmacy student's perspective.

Yea but can you enlighten us with some bad side effects/ effects of using Oxycontin?
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

        1. Highly addictive (same with any drug)
        2. DO NOT take with alcohol. It will make your stomach bleed and over time, you can develop ulcers.

You get the point...all drugs have side effects.

I think its more the fact that the huge tabacco companies fund a large chunk of each party's election campaign, money which if they lose they're fucked. These companies throw their support behind the one thats looking least likely to restrict tobacco selling, which is catch 22 as the government need to raise the taxes on them to make any kind of money

because its fun! ever watched star treck I? what an amazing and cool film! especially when they get sucked into that wormhole and the sound gets all mixed up. oh my god i was laughting so hard.

personaly i think you shouldnt get any drugs under the age of 16. even tho i have had a lot of fun at that age already. bad music, stinky arm pits, vomit all over the place, warm can beer and so on. juk - 16 is early enough but if you want to share your experience with the youth youre the granpa. bastards. when i was young we were cool - unlike the kids today!
luckily they leave the streets around midnight and thats when the bad boys (me) come out to play.

i give a shit about what is legal or not like everyone should do. you cant expect someone else to solve the problem by releasing a law. you have to use your own brain which should be possible at the age of 16.
if you throw some e and wake up dead the next day wondering how that could have happened you are a jerk. if you drink 2 bottles of vodka and from next day on untill the end of all existence the only fluid thing you will ever see is lava you were not so clever either.
i wouldnt take most of the drugs out there simply because they harm you or your body BUT legal or illegal doesnt matter as long as you know what you are doing.

                Don't remember the conclusion tho

Alcohol is a hard drug, tobacco too.
Marijuana is legal here in Belgium, but only a small amount(i think it was 3 grams or sumthin) but nobody cares, you can go across the border to Holland and get some.

I don't mind people on weed tho, they're usually mellow
But heavily drunk aggressive people are just plain .
I drink too, but i know my limit(and go across every now and then) but I don't get aggressive.

Anyhow, Soft drugs okay, hard drugs bad, to put it simple.
I think soft drugs should be legal, but only for own use, and if you're over 18.
If you use it in your own home or in designated places that's fine with me, and definately not in the vicinity of kids. then it's all 'kay to me
I agree with most of wht this guy said. Hard drugs should be illegal in any case. Soft drugs if a small amount so u dont do much harm to urself or others. No kids, do it on ur own time in ur own place. Not in public.

Alcohol isnt illegal (to those who can buy it) but it has laws all around it. I mean if you go out to drink (bar). You cant drive home bc its a DUI/DWI? If you walk home they can nail u for public drunkeness or whatever its called. Or other things like disturbing piece and all kinds of shit. So they dont technicaly have laws against buying/drinking, but they do limit what u can do with it.

On the topic of alcohol i do think that the drinking age should be 18 (in america). My theory is if at the age of 18 i get into legal trouble im tried as an adult in court. If im old enough to be sentenced to an adult penalty i should be old enough to decide if i want to buy alcohol or not.

This is pretty much true. They also like to come up with the bullshit excuse of "it's going to take away jobs". Yeah right, grow something else shithead.

Interesting that you mentioned this. There is actually a semi-logical reason why the drinking age was increased...in order to reduce the number of drunk driving deaths. And in that goal, I'm pretty sure it has suceeded.

But why do I mention this then? Good question. Does anyone know how the age was raised? The federal gov't wasn't able to raise the age without a Constituitional amendmant and that wasn't going to happen. So what did they do? They made a stipulation on Federal road improvement funds that stated that any state wishing to receive their alloted funds must comply with a drinking age of 21 or older. Blackmail if you ask me.
