i don't think it has to do with the population discrepency. . . it's a % anyways.
i think it could have to do with the fact that the states is just a 2 party race. all the people who say "oh, i don't want to vote for either" and don't end up voting are the problem.
imagine if those people all turned out and voted 3rd party?
it could also have alot to do with the electoral college. if you are a democrat in a traditionally republican state. . . what's the point?
