              • Kerry HAS to win New Mexico, otherwise this is completely over.

He needed OHIO and FLORIDA and lost em both.

                    Fucked.

                      • I had a reply, but it got deleted. If Bush wins Ohio and New Mexico, it's over. If he wins Ohio and Kerry wins New Mexico, then it's up to Hawaii. All of this assumes that Kerry will win Nevada by the predicted 1k that the Senator gave us.

                        • Ohio has become, as tons of pundits proclaimed, the new Florida. The amount of precincts reporting in Ohio ranges from 70-75% depending on how you look at it.

                          Precincts Reporting: 70.14%
Office Candidate Party Votes % Of Votes
                          President/Vice President
                          Bush, George W. Republican 2,079,955 52.23%
                          Kerry, John F. Democratic 1,882,615 47.27%
                          Badnarik, Michael 10,947 0.27%
                          Peroutka, Michael Anthony 9,001 0.23%
                          Schriner, Joe -WI 29 0.00%
                          Cobb, David Keith-WI 14 0.00%
                          Duncan, Richard A.-WI 5 0.00%
                          Zych, Thomas F.-WI 5 0.00%
                          Harris, James -WI 0 0.00%
                          Parker, John T.-WI 0 0.00%
                          Total Votes 3,982,571

                          is the state's own estimate,

                          Bush (Rep)* 2156510 51%
                          Kerry (Dem) 2029547 48%

                          % of precincts reporting: 76

is ABC's. This is a 100,000-150,000 vote margin that Kerry must overcome in the next one-quarter of balloting. Kerry needs this state badly. If he doesn't get some votes in the last bloc of Ohio and it falls in line with the Floridian results, he loses barring extreme circumstances that I discussed in the previous post.

[NPR has called Oregon for Kerry.]
