    Writing a paper on FireFox?
A paper about the evolution of the World Wide Web (not to be confused with "the internet") and, as a result, different types of webbrowser would make for an infinately more interesting read. But that's just my opinion.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

THEMES, and the resolution is nice. It accomodates for both Firefox only and IE compatible sites. Tabs that you can make by doing ctrl+t are nice as well. Hmmm what else, oh it's much safer than IE is (even with pop up blocker). There's millions of other reasons, but they have seemed to fade from me seeing as I haven't used IE for such a long time.

Portable firefox is a great way to minimize the anoyances of using public computers such as in the school lab. If you do any web development, there is a nice all in one developer plugin that offers a wealth of tools, my favorite being the outline block level elements option. Since firefox is supported by an active open source community, it's being continually developed, unlike its stagnant rival IE. Firefox lives exceeds consumer expectations of comercially licenced products and lives up to all the hype of an open source project.

i really think it would behoove you to spend some time using the browser before you commit to writing a paper on it

i mean, that's the "you'd be stupid not to" thing to do

          i'm definitely with fallen though

www.moox.ws ... Moox's optimized Firefox builds. The difference is quite noticable on my 466 mHz Celeron 128 megs 20 gig win 2000 comp.

seems to load pages faster than IE too for some reason

it's IE that fucks up pages, and some people make their pages to be viewed in IE incorporating all the fuckups in their design.

My cack would make for a more interesting read than an essay on computer software

                      QUOTE OF THE DAY

"I've had enough of these refs, they are so corrupt and biased that you just can't stand still anymore. You have to do something to stop this. I didn't punch or threaten him. I didn't harm anybody" - Mihai Macovei, president of Moldovan second division side Roso Floren, defends his decision to drive his jeep onto the pitch, and straight at a referee who awarded a penalty against his team.

K didn't bother to read the whole thread so if I repeat something then sorry.

I can give you the con side of the essay though, if you need it. I don't like Firefox because when you click on it I hate how it has to load. I never feel like waiting. Also, I hate tabs. I know if I really took the time to get to know how to use them, it would be OK. But they're too confusing for me, and I always end up just exiting the browser. And yes, I know you can set it for it to ask, but I never read pop up windows. Also, I've been using IE forever now and I don't like change. I'm too lazy.

As a developer, I like how Firefox conforms to standards. I build my pages to be viewed in Firefox, because I know that it is truly cross platform.

Which reminds me...Firefox is cross platform! It is available for Linux, Unix, Mac OS, Windows...Where's IE on all those platforms?

I also find that it runs great on my computer as well. I also love how it saves all my form information more effectively.
