im tired of laypeople associating communism with authoritarianism

i completely agree with jeansi, so lets turn this thread into some sort of brainstorm...

How do we change the current flawed kapitalist government into something that works better. It will probably be changed again after some time into something that works "better" but i think thats just the way how its always going to be.

I was thinking it might be really good if people could decide in elections not only on which party to vote but also what percentage of their tax$$$'s to go where to education, environment, health, etc etc etc... there are lots of things you could add...
So if someone thinks education is important he can for example say that he feels 80% of his tax$$$'s should go towards education and he thinks 20% should go towards public health for example... simply because he feels thats what's important... At the same time he feels there should be peace for example, so not giving defence any money will directly influence the size of the army and so without people giving defence any money there wont be any army to fight any wars...

Or maybe even being able to vote on different parties for different parts in government... (health, education, defence etc etc)

im curious to hear what you guys think....

While this is true they are also the same. First off the Bolsheviks started and took over the Russian government trying to promote Marxist ideas. Their name changed to Communists for reasons that I cannot remember right now. Anyway Lenin promoted Marxist ideas and to make a long history lesson short it wasn't until Stalin took over the government that the Communist ideal that we believe today came to be.
