They hit the De La review out the park, tho. Seemed pretty accurate to me. Same with the Sonic Youth review.
As far as rankings go, I don't think anyone ever matches up with everyone's ideas of first or last, regardless of who writes them. Subjective things like music, movies, pussy...people don't tend to agree 100% on much. Except maybe Telcat, or something.

i don't think it's fair to take a stab at pitchfork just because you aren't familiar with the artists they're reviewing
maybe you haven't heard of some of the stuff simply because it's not your flavor of music?
all of that being said, i don't agree with their list despite knowing pretty much all of the names on it
!!! i had to edit this because i realized the really, REALLY bad pun i accidentally made with the whole "take a stab" comment. man i'm a tool for doing that and not even realizing it. !!!Superficially,

43: Scissor Sisters
Elton John on crack
41: Les Savy Fav
The lead singer is the weirdest man in music, Facetious has a good story about their gig he went to
40: The Walkmen
Really really good cd (fuck you facetious)
38: Morrissey
I dunno why but this seems like a novelty record to me, his lyrics seem really basic without any substance or backing for the criticism and he delivers them like a child
33: The Futureheads
Didn't impress me when I saw them, poor man's Franz Ferdinand
27: Interpol
Great record even though its not my kind of thing, according to my Winamp Media Library 'Evil' was my most played MP3 (reformatted recently)
26: Franz Ferdinand
Everyone's got their own opinion on them so you don't need mine
24: TV On The Radio
Whats so great about them? I got an EP off of conc and it just seems run-of-the-mill average indie to me
23: Modest Mouse
Really good record, can't see why people don't like his voice. Couple of good singles but I like the way they make indie that can appeal to a lot of people whilst remaining highly experimental
16: Dizzee Rascal
He's got one decent song which is so good I've forgotten what its called but MY GOD HIS VOICE!!!
15: Annie
The NME said it was good, but then it later described it as 'bubblegum pop' which annuled their previous point
7: Devendra Banhart
What a fucking hippy
4: The Fiery Furnaces
Also hippies with the stupidest lyrics and I'm sorry but thats not my thing
3: The Streets
If I want to hear a streets song I'll just phone up my mates and talk with themOriginally posted by Facetiousedit: (Money just PMed me his address so I can go to Houston and fight him)
