I was watching countdown the other day and i had a very surreal moment with one of his infamous puns. I was only 1/2 watching it as i was also thinking about other things, mainly - is there nothing better than countdown on.

Anyway it was the end of one of the word rounds and the man had got insider for his 7 letter word. Then richard came out, bumbling over his words as he does, with something along these lines.

And yes, of course cider is my favourite drink,,, and pork is my favourite food. I like my pork'n cider...

And i was thinking --- did he just say that on at 15:40 in the afternoon? and everyone was kinda looking at him all awkward like, kinda laughing and kind of wondering had he not gone a bit too far this time for a family quiz show.

I had a moment with that gameshow too watching it at the 4am repeat. There was this lil kid who was just fucking ownage, consistent max or 1-off word lengths. He was also a bit of a git about being good so it was quite an unfriendly episode, which was interesting.

I made an applet for the numbers game years ago... but it's hard to work out how to use it if you don't know how but it does manage to solve it 99% of the time

Ok, that piece of crap just doesn't work...

Here's the numbers it gave me 24 - 8 - 9 - 14 - 21 - 21. I had to solve 391. I grabbed my calculator, fucked around for a while, and then I finally did 24*9 + 21*8 + 21 - 14 which makes 391. However your little -poss- machine said it was now 1903. Now I'll be the first to admit I know few math (incorrect grammar but it sounds better) but I do know * goes before +. FIX IT OR I CAN'T SOLVE IT!! :<

as dabram said there appears to be a bug in the order it does things though, i'm sure its just an aplet you nocked (omg i'm better than richard with the bad puns ) up in your spare time and is now finished. If it was a work in progress you could always add in ( and ) to let the user be sure where the + * etc take place so in dabrams example it could be
(24*9) + (21*8) + 21 - 14 = 216 +168 +7 = 391
but your applet goes
((24*9)+21)*8 +21 -7 = (237*8) +7 =1896 +7 =1903

probably not worth your time to fix it :P
