80's stuff...classic, rock n roll, hip hop, and oldies...

ok, well as far as classic hip hop from the 80's, I'm guessing you mean before the west coast/g-funk revolution in the very early 90's.

I'm a big fan of De La Soul, but they are kind of an aquired taste. If you want to try something experimental, check out their "De La Soul is Dead" album. It's their 2nd offerring, and I think is actually 1991, so that might be a bit newer than you want. But if not, check out De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, and Black Sheep. But if you want the seriously old school shit like the electro-funk and new wave stuff, you might want to check out sugar hill gang, grandmaster flash and the furious five, and definitely definitely kurtis blow...and don't forget Run DMC. The Fatboys were pretty big in the 80's. They are kind of gimmicky though.

As far as indie-type emo stuff in the 80's, Siouxie and the Banshees, The Cure, and The Pixies are some of my fave classics. If you don't mind the emo stuff, The Smiths are another good choice from that era.

Also, you should check out Bleach by Nirvana, if you don't have it. Everyone talks about their Nevermind and newer stuff, but Bleach was much darker, and the production was a bit less polished, so you really get a feel for the true "seattle sound" when it was just entering it's zenith.
