All my friends in college get £30 a week, and its like wtf, just because y parents have decent jobs i dont get free money :/

Well I think its a fair retribution as a lot of the people I know who get EMAs have bad domestic lives and basically cant afford much.

If you're born into a good, middle-class family, think yourself lucky.

I work at Hastings.. It's a book/video/music store

$5.65 an hr $$

Pros:
- I get to steal a ton of stuff becuase no one ever checks me.
- Ok discount on stuff
- Can make free drinks in the cafe

Cons:
- Staff are dicks
- No free stuff
- Crappy pay
- Long hrs of stocking books
- Have to dress semi-formal
- The hot chicks that come in don't dig book associates

I work usually once a week babysitting my neighbor's five-year-old twins. All I do is watch movies.

Pros:

• I just watch movies.
• $8 an hour and $15 an hour when the twins' friends come over
• It's the only work I can get because I'm 14 and I don't have a Greencard yet (I moved from Canada to the US 4 years ago and immigration is all paranoid after 9/11)

Cons:

• It's usually on a Friday or Saturday night.
  

On the upside you're 14, so you can't drive yet anyway.

I just babysit right now. Every Friday night I babysit from 10PM to 1AM, so that's an easy $15 a week to sit around watching TV and eating their food. I do babysit other times too, whenever someone needs me. Once I babysat from 9AM to 11PM and made $100; it was great I am applying for a job at a pizza place semi-near me, because someone is quitting Tuesday so I'm going to apply :P

Food service is a bad industry all around. Get something else if you can.

I TA for a highly disorganized professor who only ever assigned 1 homework so I don't have anything to grade and never gave me office hours. The class doesn't have sections so I don't have to teach.

Pros:
I get paid $5000 for working 5 hours in the semester so far.

Cons:eventually I might have to grade the midterm.

University jobs where they have no idea if you're actually doing anything or not but pay you anyway are awesome.

-Have to deal with shitty customers and ones that don't know anything
-answering the phone 50 times a day
-5 to 9 hours a day up to 40 hours a week, anything over 40 gets 10.25/h
-organizing the shelves and movies, cleaning, and organizing the cd's are a pain
-Bring about 400 every 2 weeks as part time with about 30 hours a week.
-Getting promoted to full time soon, benifits are paid, and no less than 34 hours a week.
-good people to work for, except some of the managers are shit heads
-10% discount on everything

Heh, yea, I know, but there's not much choice about where I can work out here. And besides, it's not corporate, it's a family owned business, so it won't be quite as bad.
