Baseball is the only major sport that does not involve two goals (basketball, hockey, football, volleyball, the other football soccer, etc) and a rectangular playing area, and is not golf. It has by far more variables and unpredictability than any other sport

well thats exactly right, there are too many variables to make judgements like that and alter the record books. *father and grandfathers were all large men, could have had genetic predisposition to physical strength significantly greater than the average ballplayer. *used the new contact lens that makes vision better than 20/20, could have seen the ball better. *hands were excessively oily, could have inadvertently thrown grease balls. *took the herb ephedra for extra mental and physical energy. *had one more biscuit for breakfast that day. i suppose a board could draw lines at whats acceptable and whats not, i dont know

The endzone is not a goal like the other sports you mentioned. You don't have to only kick the ball into the endzone. A player has to possess the ball and break the plane. Hockey and Basketball require only the ball/puck to enter the goal.

I still don't know what the heck you're talking about. McGwire's not even in the league. And saying "fuck you" is basically what they did to congress, with the exception of Canseco, who was only out to pimp more of his books. Really, McGwire was the only one who got emotional. Basically, it's the league and the player's union who are taking a stand against the media and Congress. And they should. It's fucking stupid that Congress and individual politicians want to exploit this issue for personal career benefit.

I'd actually say improving the economic situation of poor people is more important than either of those, but yeah... thats so freakin stupid.
Its like saying: "Who needs ed-u-a-cay-shi-on, we need to crack down on dem druggies!"
Anyway, wouldn't hard drugs be more inportant than steroids? lets see... they probably kill more people... screw up more people... but wait, they're used among the middle/lower classes, those who are in upper classes don't overdose and die... so who cares, right?
