what dumbfounds me so much about ipod users is that they all just use the tiny white earphones that come with it. i saw like 5 people with the white headphoens on today. all the money it costs, all the effort to get songs on it and your ruining it all with such horrible sound.

if you go to koss.com for 20 dollars you can buy the KTX Pro 1 which has a titanium diaphram and extremely strong neodynium magnets. these headphones are extremely unique, they are portables, not monitors, yet they sound better than most 200 dollar monitors. because of the titanium diaphram, it has a very special sound to it. its basically like having mini-subs on your head, yet the bass doesnt downed anything else out, all the bands are super-even and crystal clear all the way up to 25,000 hz if the human ear could hear that high. jaw dropping sound. they are also at radio shack where they are called the Pro 35 A instead but more money there. try them there.

The iPod is a good mp3 player but I think people are jumping on the bandwagon too easily without even considering alternatives (using alternatives in the better sense). Then, when they get them, they dismiss all other players.]

Things have progressed since they released the gen 4 iPods and there are much better ones available.

And their little marketing strategy with U2 totally failed on the adverts and the 'limited edition' player.

well, did you ever try them? go to radio shack and ask to try the Pro 35, then buy them cheaper at koss.com instead (KTX Pro 1, same one different model number)

I got a 20GB 4G iPod about 2 weeks ago. Pretty fuckin' awesome. No idea how I managed without one before.

If you don't like iTunes, there is a plugin for WinAmp so you can use that to manage your music on the iPod.

Can you throw the link my way for that? My piece of shit 800mhz comp doesn't really handle many gigs of music on iTunes very well before going to shit.

On the side note, I got a silver 6gb ipod mini, and i'm loving everything about it. Expect for the shitty headphones, (they cracked in the side, wtf?) and are somewhat uncomfartable. Other then those koss ones, can anyone suggest nice noise-cancelling earbuds or some other really nice earphones?

My advice would be waiting for a while.

With spending the money on an iPod, it's better to wait untill the end of the year and save up for a good mp3 player in your mobile phone..
