I think dreaming is easily one of the biggest enigmas of our lives. Doctors study it but it's still hard to really determine the real meaning behind them. I think for me they've had a big effect on my life, because I tend to have very real dreams and I often base some of my concious decisions on them. It's almost like my dreams are the sitcom of my life except some extraordinary things happen. And also, whenever I wake up from a really great dream I always try to fall back asleep so I can pickup where I "left off," so to speak.

I have had this one recurring dream, though, since before I can remember (maybe four years of age), in which, for one reason or another, I end up freefalling from the top of a hot-air balloon. What's so bizarre (and I'm sure this isn't restrictive to just me) is that feeling you get when you're falling but it's in your dream and you can actually feel it. It's really hard to explain but I don't know, it's just crazy.

As I mentioned above, I do base some of my decisions on my dreams. For instance, I was torn between two girls and I couldn't decide which one I like more. One I was dating and another I had had an ongoing attraction to for a while. In one of my dreams I imagined myself at least twenty years from now married to the other girl and when I woke up I was so sad that I wanted to go back. So the next day I dumped my current girlfriend and later asked out that girl. We still broke up a few weeks later, but I was much happier with her than the former.

P.S. Mulkero mentioned "lucid dreaming," of which a friend of mine is actively doing. I don't think he's quite mastered it but I was wondering if anyone else had tried it. If you haven't heard of it, it's really quite interesting (check it out here). Does anyone have the scoop on this?

This morning I dreamt I tripped on a zebra crossing and this car was heading towards me and then it ended. The dream that is.

That is very true, for the good dreams i'd wake up and try to get back to sleep. I'm happy that you guys are dreaming, cause it means (for most of you) that you're body is actually resting and getting enough sleep. The weird thing about dreaming is I know i dreamt of it but i can't recall it sort of thing happnes alll the time.

This morning I dreamt (this is quickly becoming a dream blog) that I was watching porn on my pc and my brother came home. I tried to turn it off but my keyboard and mouse stopped responding and my speakers wouldn't turn off, instead they just seemed to get loader and to top it off the power button wasn't working either. It ended there thankfully :P

EDIT: I had another dream a couple of days ago about dying again, but I don't remember exactly what.

A few years ago, while i was at High School, my best mate really liked this band (i mean really liked), i never really heard their stuff or seen their videos at the time. We were both taking Art as a subject and he asked me for any ideas to what he should do for his Final piece (the topic was Impressionism). I gave him an idea that i dreamt off the night b4 (something to do with a Guy's reflection seen standing behind a woman, in a mirror; but he isn't actually there).
Well anyways, he conveinced me to listen to his favourite bands songs. I liked their songs then when i watched one of their music videos the same image of the Guy seen in the mirror, that i dreamt, was in that video. Honestly, it was strange, i had never seen their videos but i dreamt of a clip from one of them and that my best mate was a big fan of them, at the time.

Has anyone had one of those dreams where an Alien breaks through your chest, smashing your rips, and ripping through your flesh? I did; on the night after watching Aliens (second one), it felt so real my chest was in pain and my heart was pounding that i had to check to see that i was ok.

Weirdest dream, eh? How about a recurring dream I've had for the past 20 years?

I'm bathing in the tub when my heart begins to hurt. I tear open my chest, take out my heart and wash it under the faucet. Afterwards, I put it back in, watching it beat.

Sometimes I get a similar dream. In this one, I take out my heart, put my chest back together, wash the heart and then eat my heart. Afterwards, I feel it pounding in my chest. Freaks me out each time I get either one of em.
