Oh and Zabuza, quit laughing at other's intelligence. You didn't bring up one good point in your post before just 'Omg, of course we landed on the moon!', and what your thoughts were, and now you're acting like you're superior just because you have a "right" point of view. You are stupid, as are your posts. Killed by Bush? Awesome Zabuza, remember: hating Bush and using him in insults that have nothing to do with him makes you cool! Go kick and scream about getting kicked out of TWDev, and pretending you're good at making maps.
Fuck you.
U know what? Stop being a little dickwad, i dont make a point because it is a waste of my time you little faggot, dibt gi saying i cant make maps when 7 are in tw and you cant do shit, come talk to me when you got something good to say you fucking ass...
Hey, Bloodzombie? how bout learning the whole story dumbass
Originally posted by Scientists Er SumthingBad: A big staple of the HBs is the claim that radiation in the van Allen Belts and in deep space would have killed the astronauts in minutes. They interview a Russian cosmonaut involved in the USSR Moon program, who says that they were worried about going in to the unknowns of space, and suspected that radiation would have penetrated the hull of the spacecraft.
Good: Kaysing's exact words in the program are ``Any human being traveling through the van Allen belt would have been rendered either extremely ill or actually killed by the radiation within a short time thereof.''
This is complete and utter nonsense. The van Allen belts are regions above the Earth's surface where the Earth's magnetic field has trapped particles of the solar wind. An unprotected man would indeed get a lethal dose of radiation, if he stayed there long enough. Actually, the spaceship traveled through the belts pretty quickly, getting past them in an hour or so. There simply wasn't enough time to get a lethal dose, and, as a matter of fact, the metal hull of the spaceship did indeed block most of the radiation. For a detailed explanation of all this, my fellow Mad Scientist William Wheaton has a page with the technical data about the doses received by the astronauts. Another excellent page about this, that also gives a history of NASA radiation testing, is from the Biomedical Results of Apollo site. An interesting read!

Dumbass...
Look at my earlier post in this thread... I already know this stuff. Your reply was so stupid that I thought it might be a good idea for you to do a little reading yourself.http://www.trenchwars.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15100 - Gallileo's racist thread

The astronauts wouldn't die
way to just believe everything they shove down your throat... have you ever heard of a little thing called the Van Allen Belt? A ring of radiation between us and the moon? Upon entering the Van Allen Belt the astronauts would've died of radiation poisining immediately. More than 6 feet of lead shielding would've been needed to protect them, and don't even say that they must've had it, because a ship made out of 6 foot lead walls couldn't fly.

Plus, as seen in many major cities during the night, unless stars are really bright normally, they are rarely seen due to light pollution. If the sun is illuminating the lunar landscape, there's going to be alot of light being reflected from the ground, especially with no atmosphere to absorb and reflect any of the light that isn't remotely dead on, and overpowering the starlight. Just a thought though, feel free to prove me wrong.Last edited by BleakFuture; 04-25-2005, 05:38 PM.I really do like pie

Everyone has seen the video of astronauts planting a US flag on the Moon. You can see the flag flexing and rippling. How can that be? There's no breeze on the Moon. But then, there's no atmosphere, either. When the astronauts planted the flagpole they twisted it back and forth to sink it into the lunar soil. On the Earth, that would have made the flag "wave" for a few seconds, then stop. But that's because the flag pushes against air as it flaps, and the air slows it down. On the Moon, there was no air to stop the flag's motion, so it continued, just as Newton's First Law of physics says it should. So of course the cloth flag waved and rippled beneath the metal rod holding it out.Last edited by MetalKid; 04-25-2005, 05:53 PM.

1. Apollo 14 astronaut Allen Shepard played golf on the Moon. In front of a worldwide TV audience, Mission Control teased him about slicing the ball to the right. Yet a slice is caused by uneven air flow over the ball. The Moon has no atmosphere and no air.
