Time to resurrect this thread because I can't believe how good the Suns/Spurs game is. Heat/Pistons is probably going 7 games, and even if the Suns can't come back in the 4th quarter tonight, so far, they've been exciting.

Anyone else seriously loving the two great battles going on?

I hate to see the #1 and #2 seeds battling in both conferences. It's so damn boring. At least the series in the East is close, I guess.

I have to go for San Antonio. I don't really care for any of the remaining teams, but there's the home state issue. I'd rather bring the trophy back home than see it end up in Detroit or Miami. There's only one reason I would root for Miami, and that would be so Shaq could prove what everyone else already knows: the Lakers are a bunch of fuckups. They got rid of the talented player and kept the overrated prima donna, and their 34-48 record shows what a gaffe that was. If Detroit hadn't won last year I'd go for them, but I hate seeing repeat champions in any sport so I'll pass. Spurs over Heat in the Finals, but if they do it I'm sure (I hope - short series are a yawnfest) it'll take at least six games, more likely seven.

yeah, I care a lot less now, but I think I'll root for Miami too. I knew Wade was a superstar ever since he beat Pitt (#2 seed in the tourny at the time) pretty much single handidly in the sweet 16 with Marquette. Killed me when he did it, but then I decided to root for the guy after that.

Although if Detroit wins I'll root for them, San Antonio is now the enemy.

I'm picking the Spurs over the Pistons in the Finals. Probably goes to game 7 though. People say that series will be boring, but I don't thinkso. Both teams are very good defensively. And if you like defense, which I do, then it should be a good battle. I don't think the Heat will beat the Pistons. But if they do, I think the Heat and Spurs would probably get better ratings.

i dont understand how anyone can like watching a 48 minute game where they score under 80 points, and i also dont understand how anyone can watch tim duncan protest every single foul called on him like he's god's gift to the earth and how could you ever imagine that he fouled someone, hes so all-american, he doesnt curse ohmygod!!!!!!!! without wanting to kick him in the nuts

I'm not sure if that was intended to be funny, but Tim Duncan actually did get kicked in the nuts last night. I think it was by Amare Stoudamire, and as Amare went up to block Tim's shot, his leg swept up right between Duncan's legs and kicked him squarely in the coconuts sending Duncan to the floor in the fetal position for a good 5-10 seconds.

Anyway, I do agree that this year, Duncan has complained more than I've ever seen him complain and bitch at the refs before, and frankly, I think it's pretty stupid to watch that happen.

However, I still want the Spurs to win. They have been my pick all year, and as long as they can get their freethrow shit together, they look almost impossible to take down. Even Shaq cannot stop the entire Spurs team. The Spurs have the total package: offensive/defensive/man-to-man/team defense/all-star quality starters/horry the miracle worker/ginobli the magician...etc.

Hope you watched last nights game Face, I think it was Duncan that got nutted big time in the 4th quarter.

69 points? Hot damn, total lockdown mode. Even against a team with no offense that's an impressive number. But yeah, if you don't like defensive battles don't watch this series. I know drow's in heaven right about now.

San Antonio for win. I love their style of basketball, with Manu Ginobli playing recklessly aggressive, and Duncan's veteran fundamentals, and team defense, and wild offense.

They play exactly like what I think the prototype team should play like...uptempo offense with lots of fast-breaks, but able to slow it down at will, and grind it out in the 1/2-court offense style. And a dedication to team defense.

The only thing that I hate about their team is their tendency to bitch and moan about foul calls. The Kings are worse, but SA is pretty ridiculous at times.
