Whoa, Whoa... I'm a very Intelligent player... I don't know what your talking about... I surley hope that your not basing it on my internet lingo are you?
I clearly like Xbox much better then PS2 due to the fact that Playstations online gaming just isn't strong enough... There's games for everyone, depending on what your into... I like racing and shooting, and there's plenty of that to go around on Xbox, so I've got no complaints.

And besides that, I'm a steady online gamer, So I think I'll be sticking with the Xbox.

Does this mean that XBox 2 won't be backwards compatible with the original XBox?

      ...wait, that's standard Microsoft policy.

I may have misheard/read but I believe all three next-next-gen consoles will be backwards compatible.

Though I have to agree with Liquid, PS2 has a far larger library of better games than XBox, because if it wasn't for Halo I wouldn't really own one right now, I might but it's a slim chance. However, XBox completely and totally has Sony owned in the online department, which Sony should really think about fixing. I'm looking forward to the Revolution from Nintendo, I just wish a lot of the developers/publishers would stop shying away from Nintendo because they think it's 'too kiddy', RE4 should have destroyed that thought.

Heres what I've read on the Xbox 360.

              -Support for 4 Wireless Controls
              -One Hard Wired Port
              -3x 2.0 USB Ports
-Xbox Live will be free! (Low Level "Silver" will be play during the weekdays, High Level "Gold" will allow weekend play as well as many other things).
-2 Versions of the System, one with a hard drive (20 GB) one without.
-The hardware is awsome, 3 x 3GHz chips, and the next generation ATi card.
-Backwards compatibility is an issue right now, rumor is the hard drive addition will allow you to play.
-When PS3 comes out, Xbox will drop 50-100$ in price, and release Halo 3 the same day.
-Xbox will have WiFi built in
-Will support HDTV and all games must be in the format, will work on non-HDTV sets.

I have a hige list of things I read, let me know if you want them.

After owning 2 out of the 3 systems, and playing Xbox a few times at friends houses, I have come to the conclusion that it can have all the pretty shit it wants, but if the games suck then it's a waste of my money. Before I buy any of these new systems I'm going to have to take a long look at the library, because I just can't afford multiple systems anymore when they are each going to be 300+ dollars.

EDIT: Anyone else besides me think Gamecube is a big letdown compared to the other 2 systems? Sure there are a few gems like Double Dash, SSBM, RE4 and ToS, but it just doesn't seem to have that good of a lasting impression on me, when I look back over these past couple of years.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

No, I don't think GameCube is a let down, I prefer it to the XBox. XBox was more of a let down because I bought it ONLY for Halo, because when I bought it... Halo was just about all there was. There are some games I still need to try(KOTOR, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden) that I probably won't get around to because 'm in one of those 'gaming ruts' where I have systems to play but I just... well don't play them, I feel bad for my GBA SP. GameCube unfortunately wasn't supported very well by many people outside of Nintendo, and definately not supported very well by gamers who are attracted to the bright lights and swear/gore/titty filled games of now, completely forgetting exactly who got them into gaming in the first place. So I guess you could call it a let down, but I don't think it's fully a fault of its own, however Nintendo really needs to rethink this no online policy they have, because I guarentee an online version of SSBM, Mario Kart, Zelda or Mario would make them quite a chunk of change.

lol? are you kidding me? do you know how many crappy action/shoot-em-up games there are for Xbox that you need to smash the buttons to actually succeed in? the list of games never ends

Intelligent player? Intelligence has nothing to due with gaming at all.

By the way, Ice Weasel. Name some online games for Xbox that dont include Halo and Paintball. Go ahead, try it. PS2 has SOCOM, CoD, FFXI (need to buy some stuff but its worth it), A load of sports games, and many others.

I would have to say the only reason i actually bought a Xbox was for Morrowind, and thats it.

I could sort of see an online version of Mario (Mario and Luigi together in Mario 64 popped into my head when I read that), but what would be the point of an online Zelda? Tons of Links and Zeldas running around? I agree with you and am interested in your ideas though.

The problem with Nintendo's online strategy is actually in their approach to multiplayer games. Their philosophy tends to be that multiplayer games should be fun party games where the players are all together in the same room. I'm not saying that's a bad concept on its own, but it's had a negative affect on online development.

Well, 've seen a bunch of fanarts and Nintendo done art of Link and Sheik fighting together, so there's one idea. Also there's the idea of a mass online 'Four Swords' type deal, but with far more characters(Link, Zelda, Gannondorf, enemies) where each character would have different attributes and abilities and they could run an entire dungeon set or something. Also there's more possiblity of co-op play based on the actual Zelda series timeline. Say for a story that when Gannondorf/Ganon returned and claimed the Triforce as his own he brought forth TOO much power, which could join himself with even more power, but would bring about a Link from an earlier era. That could bring about a dual Link co-op, and based on which Link the player would choose could dictate what his abilities were, ie say Link from Link's Adventure would be far more skilled in magic than other Link's, or Wind Waker's Link would have the ability for more options in battle(parrying, counters, etc). Then if that sounds dumb(it kinda does but oh well, there's been far dumber), there's even minor online play they could do. Time trials, races, shooting galleries, duels, etc etc that they could do where you might not be competing one on one with other players, but your total score would be ranked, kinda like Ninja Gaiden's time trials. But they could do anything from horseback races, horseback combat(person to kill the most enemies/hit most targets wins) where two or more people compete in a large area and for a set amount of time an x amount of enemies or targets spawn and whoever kills the most wins. Also, going back to just mentioning duels, take in the Four Swords, where you can fight each other, and let 4+ people playing as Link fight it out, or hell even throw in other characters, make it kinda like... PowerStone(in look, not the battle system) and Zelda only SSBM where you could say get into a game of 6 people and it be Link vs Link vs Stalfos vs Iron Knuckle vs Gannondorf vs Ganon... I dunno, I always wanted there to be a battle/training mode in Ocarina of Time because I thought it would be cool.

Cool. Did you ever beat Four Swords? I beat it with 2 of my friends and by the end it's some crazy shit. Not hard or anything, it's just that you go through crazy phases of being greedy/competative/ helping your friends out, and by the end you're like " wow, that was awesome but we can't ever play it again" :fear:

I would love to do some of that stuff but I think they would all have to be piled up on the same disc or whatever, I don't think just 1 or 2 of those events would keep me interested for a long amount of time.

I just really, really want another SSBM

I never played Four Swords, wanted to but no one around me has a GBA. Another SSBM, especially online(they'd have to really make sure lag was very very minimum) would be awesome.
