What I found was odd about that Sunday night lineup was that the 351st Simpsons episode was better than the new premiere of Family Guy. But that was a pretty damn good Family Guy episode.
However the Larry David Show called "Curb Your Enthusiasm" cracks me up.
Yea, cuz almost every series on HBO is pretty good (cept I hated Family Bonds and K Street). Deadwood, Sopranos, Entourage, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Unscripted, Ali G Show, Curb Your Enthus... are all great shows, way better anything on the regular networks.
FX has been doing some good stuff too. The Shield, Rescue Me, and Nip/Tuck are all pretty solid shows. Good writing.

The Shield and Nip/Tuck are terrible shows. I have a little respect for Denis Leary so I haven't let myself watch Rescue Me yet but I'm sure it's equally bad.
EDIT: Maybe I'm just weird but I thought all those HBO shows you listed besides Sopranos and Curb your Enthusiasm are boring.
Well I don't watch very much TV but some of my favourite shows are The Simpsons, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Seinfeld, and M*A*S*H. Other than that I watch CNN, FoxNews, and random cool shit on the Discovery Channel/PBS/TLC/Animal Planet/etc - if that gives you any idea as to what kind of stuff I like watching.
The Shield's premise is overrused and pretty boring. They try, with each incarnation of cop drama shows/movies, to make the hero more and more badass and out of control but all I see is over-dramatization, a serious lack of realism, and a laughable bald and fat choinker for a lead role in a badass cop show. Nothing groundbreaking here, NYPD Blue and other shows did it better.
Nip/Tuck I just find boring. I guess their premise is a little more unique than The Shield but it still feels like the appeal of their show hinges on shock value.
PS: Lately I've been watching Law and Order. Call me gay, but I'm hooked.
If you like Law and Order, I'd suggest maybe picking up some of the Homicide: Life on the Street DVDs. They're excellent.
As far as comedies go though, I like pretty much everything that's played on tv (whether it be main networks or HBO, Cartoon Network, etc.). Except for Drew Carey, I fucking hate that show.

Its frustrating to write these lines after every post^
I'd hope there would be another way..like some automatic system that fills them itself after every post.
