I didn't realise the distinction between the two until after they'd merged, and you can't really peel them apart and keep the continuity of the threads now

On a side note: I had no idea Luke and Leila were siblings

That's because she was known as being a stuck up senator from Alderaan, not because he knew she was his daughter. If he knew she was his daughter he would have had a much easier time turning her to the dark side and wouldn't have let her be sentenced to death by Tarkin.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

It wasn't good. Ok the movie was quite good, but the ending was only ok. and me being a star wars fan with this being the last star wars ever ok just doesn't cut it. it has some really good fight scenes and the scenes where the jedi order falls are absolutly brilliant but the ending jsut wasn't there. I mean it resolved everything but thats kidna it, I can think of several better ways to end it.

It was ok, I guess, I left feeling kinda dissapointed.
The ending just seemed to be "right, let's join this movie up with A New Hope so all those stupid people who don't know the story can know what's what."

Oh my, the computer-generated Tarkin was terrible, he looked like he was a character from a computer game cutscene.

There seemed to be a bit too much focus on the action and effects, as far as I am concerned, this isn't what Star Wars is about (yea sure the first used revolutionary effects, but still...), it should have been deeper in some way.

In the trailer, there's a bit of dialogue between Palpatine and Skwalker:
                Palpatine - "Lord Vader"
                Vader - "Yes master"
                Palpatine - "Riiiise"

In the actual movie, Palpatine said the line "Riiiiise" way before this bit, and in the scene the trailer led you to believe it was in, he instead said "Lord Vader, can you hear me?". That takes away the whole awesomeness of it.

                And WTF, no Imperial March?

Also, was it just me, or did it seem Luke and Leia were computer-imposed, and not actually there?

Sure the film was good, but it could have been a lot better.

Ep3 Tarkin was a real actor, Wayne Pygram, who played Scorpius on Farscape. They added prosthetics and makeup to make him look like a younger version of Tarkin from the classic trilogy, mainly with the sunken face features. Tarkin never was a pretty man. lol I took my little brother to see it today and I made sure to keep an eye on that scene. ^-^

I went to an evening showing today, and it seemed to be a lot more animated in the audience this time because there were just hordes and hordes of young kids screaming out, gasping, chanting "Yo-da! Yo-da!", and just generally having a blast. It was a lot of fun.

Okay, so I just saw it, and I have a few reactions.

-Lucas cannot tell a love story. He's TEEEEERRRRRIBLE AT IT! The parts where this movie drags on are in the love scenes. The love story was an integral part of the movie, and it did need to be adressed, but it didn't need to drag on.

-My only other complaint is: The light saber fights needed to be shot better. There were too many close up shots of the guys faces as they were fighting.

-Also, Mace Windu had the worst death since Boba Fett. He deserved a much better kill off.

-I loved how Lucas sort of crossed the line in this movie. Most directors would not have taken the killing kids angle. But Lucas crossed that line, and made everyone in the theatre gasp. I must say that when Anakin turned on his light saber, after the kid asked if everything was ok, I felt creeped out.

-The Droid general (I forget his name) rocked my socks! That guy was soooo cool. The lightsaber fight between him and Obi Wan was my fave, escpecially since I didn't see the 4 arms thing coming.

-Ewan McGregor acted awesomely in this movie. In that last scene, where Anakin is falling into the lava, and he is screaming, "You were the chosen one!" I couldn't help but smile. His acting was that good. You truly believed the anguish and frustration in his voice.

-Natalie Portman is soooooo bomb. Period.

-Anyone else notice how this movie was opposite of all the other Star Wars movies? Most of the movies start out slow, and gradually pick up, while as this one started out fast, and kept at that hurried pace.

Overall, this is my second fave Star Wars (behind The Empire Strikes Back of course). While some parts were boring, the jist of the movie was very entertaining, and the fights were awesome! I loved that last fight between Obi Wan and Anakin, it seemed so epic. The computer animation didn't look that bad, and I thought it was fairly well acted by most (Natalie didn't do so well in some scenes ) Overall, a must see. Even if you don't like Star Wars, it's a good movie to watch on a friday night.

Grevious. There was a Star Wars cartoon that showed him kicking the shit out of like 10 jedi with his 4 arm light sabre thing that was SO MUCH BETTER than anything this movie had.

Agreed. I expected more of that and I was disappointed. The deaths of Mace Windu and Grievous were kind of ho-hum, but other than that I was fucking amazed.
