Well i got my Smart an year ago and all i can say is that i never though it was so good to drive it, i mean i'm not a fan of driving cars but i like to drive mine. Anyway it has some very good qualities like, you can park it almost everywhere, it's a great looking car "despite what some might say", it's fast, and it's safe "not as safe as a volvo, but safe...", on the other hand on a few ocasions i need to bring more then one person with me size really starts to matter, either i ask to get my mom's or my dad's car or it gets complicated.
If you don't need a 5 seat car Smart is great and i don't regret having asked for one to my dad but it pays to have a second option for the increased size.

PS: And no it's not Barbie's and Ken's car <_<

I'm driving a smart at the driving school. It's pretty nice to drive but the seats are somewhat annoying imho.

My own car is Ford Fiesta and a picture might be coming later.

on a related note.. getting a car from your parents is what I call spoiled.. I am kinda spoiled I admit.. but I am nowhere near getting a car from my mom, not even a bike.

BZ, I think that in the USA it is easy cheaper to own and drive a car then over here in the Netherlands.. I would never be able to afford a car on just a part time job I did next to school.

I dunno, maybe it is cheaper here, but certainly not cheap. Most people can't afford a car on a part time job unless they buy a used crappy car, or their parents help them.

Anyway getting a car from your parents doesn't mean you have to be spoiled... it just doesn't work that way. And i guess you would have to know someone a lil better to know if they are spoiled or not, it's the stitude that matters, not anything related to receiving gifts or anything... <_<

when I pass my test, I'm going to have to pay for petrol for that 7 seater car all by myself. I'm looking forward to driving the beast, but not paying for fuel. I think it does 23-28mpg, which isn't too bad considering its an automatic, but petrol prices are shite, and are shitening.

My mum is getting to the stage where she's having panic attacks while driving. God knows why, but its dangerous for her to be on the road; that, and she's a woman... I hope.

I'm still a student .. going to college by freaking bus. Working at saturday.
But I can't afford a car .. well .. I could buy a really cheap old car, but it's not easy to keep it rolling. Fuel prices are insane over here (Belgium - The Netherlands).
Also the insurance fee's are way too expensive.
While in the USA fuel is like .. CHEAP ! Almost for free when you compare it to our prices.

But then again .. your president has an oil extraction thing in his backyard. And he starts waging war when he is running out of oil.
